I bought a computer from QVC in 2014 and QVC said it was from that year. I confirmed form Apple that is was a Apple Laptop from 2012.
I also spoke to one of your reps on the phone regarding this: She told me 2014.
Apple in-Store Genius told me 2012. But it's easy to check with a serial number either way.
Just saying...not cool

You know, I think I've heard before that outdated technology is their forte...

Yeah, a good rule of thumb is that most electronics sold at QVC are obsolete or, at the very least, semi-obsolete. They charge more and give you less. Best to purchase computers pretty much anywhere BUT from a shopping channel.

I think a lot of the electronics and appliances qvc sells for tsvs are closeouts and then a couple of months later qvc will have the newest and best model or you'll see it in the store. Qvc can sometimes be like a big lots.

HSN does the same - rock bottom prices on the slowest processors out there with the least amount of RAM possible - and you could still find it cheaper at Staples or Wal-Mart. Both QVC and HSN sell computers and tablets to people who believe the hosts when they say it's the latest technology.

The worst is when they intentionally say in a presentation, and I quote verbatim from Rick holding up a Dell laptop, "this is the latest technology that Dell has"! That was last November, then I found out the computer had an Intel Celeron Processor which was absolutely NOT the latest technology. I canceled, they shipped it, and I refused it. I will never buy electronics from QVC again. (The only reason I ordered it was that I got a Dell desktop from QVC over five years ago and it's still going strong, does what I need it to do, and I haven't had the first problem with it. But it actually WAS new technology then, so I trusted them this time until I found out differently. No more...)

Whenever making any purchase, the seller should do his or her research. Sales people will always tell us how great products are; it is called puffery. It is up to us to make sure we are spending our money wisely.
People generally buy electronics from shopping channels for convenience or easy pay. Anyone looking for actual "high-end" electronics or the "latest and greatest" should look elsewhere.

I would never buy electronics from a shopping network. The only possible way I'd consider it is if I knew the model number and name and researched to see if it's the current one on the market. Q often sells outdated models of computers, tablets, tvs, etc.
