Re: Mike George's response to the current crisis

@banned again This is the usual "can't-we-all-get-along" claptrap.  "Rising unrest"?  Baloney.  What is going on now in the US has nothing to do with protesting the death of George Floyd.  What is going on now in the US is anarchy, led by a group of thugs and criminals bent on bringing this country to its knees.

"Create a community where each of us feels able to be our full selves...."?  We already had that going for us until the virus hit and then this mess.  The only thing holding black Americans back is the continued barrage of "victimology" and "race-baiting" from the so-called "black leadership".  They tell black Americans that they are the victims, they'll always be the victims and that there's no hope.

"Uncomfortable conversations"?  Ok.  Let's start with why "blaci-on-black" violence is so prevelant in the major cities.  Black children are being slaughtered.  Then let's go to what happened to the black American family, torn apart by politicians.  Then let's go to the awful public education system that has been foisted on the black communities for decades, with the help of teachers' unions and local politicians.

I'd ask Mike George to stop apologizing and pleading when there's nothing to apologize and plead for.

Re: Mike George's response to the current crisis

Since the beginning there have been good people and bad people.  What happened to Mr Floyd was almost unreal because one man ignored pleas to let him  breathe while other officers did not pull him off.  But there were also others with cell phone in hand recording this death.  Why did they not pull the officer off of Mr Floyd?  And I have to ask  why there are  no riots when many officers are murdered often while trying to save people from bad situations.  And there are no riots when a black teen murders another black person...why?  Is that acceptable?  Bands of roaming destructive disrespective anarchists will only do one thing...destroy our country.  There are outside threats from many countries and we need to end this rape of our communities before it is too late.  So by all means let us agree racial bias remains but certainly progress has been made and the gangs of criminal activity does not create harmony among us.

You are talking about several things here, some overlapping, some not.

First, this is not anarchy.  This is pure anger at how people of color are treated by way too many people.

Your own words reflect the same kind of thinking that is causing the problem.  I would encourage you to learn about the real history of racism and bigotry in the U.S.  It's easy to see it in present times but there are hundreds of years of it. There is absolutely no reason to propagate falsehoods and biases.

Sounds like Mike - or his PR team - put a lot of thought into this.

@Pecky. I have asked the moderators to take it down. Cats01 is definitely intent on starting trouble.
