I really doubt QVC is “encouraging” people to swear. At the same time, all this pearl-clutching borders on hypocritical. The people who will absolutely shred a host’s wardrobe, voice, hair, body, and even their eyeglasses really want us to believe they’re sooo offended if a host or guest lets slip a bad word or mentions a common health problem?
I’m not buying it. I think some people just want to snipe at anything they can. It’s their entertainment, it makes them feel better about themselves, and it’s why they keep tuning it.

Pearl Restringing Kit could be a new TSV.

They could sell a couple-o-dozen right here on the forums.

The Pearl Clutchers absolutely love this, so they have some unified pearl-clutching event about which to bemoan and despair and recoil in horror!

While Clutching in horror, the "dirty words" are amplified!

Hi Johnny5star, it must be exhausting keeping up with all your personas.  At Shopping Snark, you put down QVC and the hosts.  Here, as the not-so-funny executive, you put down other posters.  I am so impressed with your ability to keep your personalities straight! 🤣

I think the topic that hit me the most was when Melissa was asked about grief.

Grief really is what ties us all together, because we all must go through it.

And I learned that she was a supporter and advocate for a teen and youth suicide prevention organization out of LA that offers free counseling to those in need.

It was an interview that made me laugh and cry and I will never forget it.

@RescueLover   I completely agree! I learn new things every week about the guests when I watch 50 and Fabulous.  Melissa did a great job yesterday and I applaud Melissa for her suicide prevention work.  I like the candid nature of this show- I never know what Mally or her guests will say or share about themselves.  This show is fun and lively, but it also explores deep issues too- I like seeing different sides to Mally and her guests.  Its interesting to hear Mally and her guests talk about their journeys to success and all of the highs and lows or hang-ups along the way.  Smiley Happy

Re: Melissa Rivers is the guest tonight

I didn’t watch as not interested as I don’t fit the demographic as I’m way over 50. But, my question is for those who did tune in, did you learn anything about aging in a healthy way?

The language wouldn’t bother me as it’s nothing I don’t hear daily. I don’t think Mally & Melissa could offer me any insight if I were looking for advice.

But, Joan, taught me something about the human spirit. I admired her resiliency & ability to reinvent herself more than her talent. Joan lost everything after Edgar’s death & was black balled but she didn’t give up. She knew fashion & what was classic; she valued quality & reasonable pricing. She never followed fads & her clothing was timeless. Of course, she was a great entertainer imo, & she made a successful comeback as well, But, more importantly, she taught me about the human spirit & ability to endure loss & hardship. She would be an icon for the age of possibility campaign. The others meh

If you liked Joan as much as you said, I’m surprised you didn’t want to watch the show with Melissa. Her only child. 🤗

Reread my post earlier and you’ll see what I learned about the spirit of Joan’s daughter Melissa.
She is her mom’s daughter through and through. 🤗

Remind me what the closing price of their stock was yesterday, she asked rhetorically...

Re: Melissa Rivers is the guest tonight

@RescueLover - I enjoyed Joan & loved her on fashion police as well. I am way over 50 as said so no interest & I like many celebrities but not necessarily their children. Melissa has some celebrity status because of Joan. As far as her accomplishments, I have no idea what’s she’s done but I admired Joan for her fortitude & resiliency more than anything.
