As beloved as Joan was by many, she could be pretty raunchy in her stand ups and at times plowed through the Q boundary of homespun goodness.  The apple doesn't fall far from the tree?

Melissa seems to fit right in with the 50&Fabulous Q crew of women over 50 acting 19.

Re: Melissa Rivers is the guest tonight

I think the topic that hit me the most was when Melissa was asked about grief.

Grief really is what ties us all together, because we all must go through it.

And I learned that she was a supporter and advocate for a teen and youth suicide prevention organization out of LA that offers free counseling to those in need.

It was an interview that made me laugh and cry and I will never forget it.

What did everyone expect?  Mally and Melissa Rivers?  Being surprised by their talk and actions is naive.  Melissa was taught by the best.

Let that sink in.

Not saying this to condone it on air, or even act above it, like it's never slipped out of my mouth...but to say what I've noticed lately, that I think it's become a "hip" thing to "normalize" it. I listen to many podcasts, and the ones run by hosts 45 and under, use it constantly, as a regular "conversational" word, over & over. Sounds low class, and like they're trying too hard to be cool.

I've also noticed on those podcasts, too many hosts using certain, shall I say "biblical" names in vein, and that, to me, doesn't sound right or cool... they'd never in a million years slander other religions...that would be "not acceptable." It's where the world is currently at...Hope my saying that doesn't get poofed.

I was thinking the other day, seems lots of things today are done in the thought of wanting a "more progressive" society...and so much of it seems actually, ironically, regressive to me. jmo, don't come for me.

I didn't watch the Melissa or Mally thing...not interested in the least, in that or the 50's "Age of possibility" shows.

On another note...in case anyone is interested...I do follow Melissa on Instagram...she's engaged, and seems happy!

Imagine thinking that what you don’t watch is worthy of an announcement.

Imagine getting so upset over WORDS.  And not like it was on live TV.  Probably time for most of you to get those pearls restrung by now.  On another note, I loved Mally's brightly colored dress!

Pearl Restringing Kit could be a new TSV.

They could sell a couple-o-dozen right here on the forums.

The Pearl Clutchers absolutely love this, so they have some unified pearl-clutching event about which to bemoan and despair and recoil in horror!

While Clutching in horror, the "dirty words" are amplified!
