David always suggests gifts for the neighbor who brings in your packages along with the garbage man, postal carrier, UPS driver, hairdresser, coach, nail tech, person who brings in your mail when you are gone, twenty teachers, and the list goes on. Who has that kind of money? Buying for family and a few friends is costly enough.

If I was not able to do so myself, I would be happy to pay a dog walker 20 (or more) to walk my dog.  Money well spent.

@BalletBabe Well, you have to understand that mouth is flapping at over 100 mph and the brain is disconnected so it's no surprise what comes out of it.

@Linda0215   One of these days she is going to lift off like a helicopter the way she flaps those hands and arms.  I can't even watch her on a video.

Re: Mary, c'mon now!

One of my good friends who retired a year ago, does dog walking and runs errands for the elderly and makes pretty darn good money in cash!

She not only walks the dogs, but feeds them and plays with them for owners that work long hours.

For the elderly, she has a few friends that have elderly parents that need prescriptions picked up and other personal items, and she does that as well.

Its a nice little gig where she picks and chooses her hours and get cash payments....

Well I must be cheap.  I would no how, no way pay anyone $20+ an hour to walk my dogs.  In fact,  I wouldn't hire anyone to do that for any price.

We have always walked our own dogs.....no experience needed.  Leash up, open the door, go outside out and walk.  Oh, carry poop bags and pick up after the dogs.  Easy peasy.

There's a dog walker where I live.  Several older residents cannot walk their dog far.

Other people cannot get home easily to take the dog out during the day.

I think having a Dog Walker is needed if you work full time and no one is home to let the dog out in the afternoon.

And YES I would give them a $100 gift. Priceless.

I am curious does the dog walker get a set of house keys to walk the dog while the owner is at work?

Hi! @Igfan

Yes a house key or access to the keypad outside garage to open door and go inside from there.
