Maybe they had to work that night or some might not have been invited.

I think it looks like a wonderful evening filled with friends, laughter, memories, and well wishes.

I think Mary Beth looks lovely in red, and while some may not care for the style, I think it's a basic non-trendy dress that above all, looks comfortable!

I don't understand any speculation about why certain individuals are there. Pretty obvious they were invited.

This was a sit down dinner. I have no doubt Mary Beth herself carefully curated the guest list. No one but her knows the closeness of a relationship she's had with coworkers. And it's none of our business.
