I don't know why anyone would make such a big deal out of a retirement announcement 9 months in advance.   Never heard of such a thing.  If they'd have a layoff, she'd be the first to go since her intentions are known.  Not a wise move.

@San Antonio Gal - If you recall, could you share which item might have aired right before or right after the announcement? I missed it and just wondered if it might have been kept as part of the presentation. (It looks like this show will only re-air again in the very early morning hours on Q3, which means I still won't be able to watch it.)

She actually said her decision was to retire in August, but QVC talked her into staying until March.  Then she said even though it was a long way off, she wanted everyone to hear it from her now instead of hearing things here and there.

Congratulations to Mary Beth on her upcoming retirement in March 2025. I thought her announcement was nicely done. She thanked QVC for her career and job. Her words about working at QVC and to all the customers were heartfelt. Rick joining her and getting choked up, then ending with the hug-a-thon made it even sweeter.

IAnnouncement was right after the Sketches Sepulveda knit shoe. She hosted for 2 hours. Then Rick came on with the computer.

She deserves it.  I am sure she has worked hard for years.  Now time to enjoy grand babies I am not sure why she would announce it so early, however Pat Sajak from wheel of fortune announced his a year early.  She is a great host no matter what product she is presenting.
