Qurate will save $60 million in 2024 due to the recent 400 layoffs.

That's significant,  even for a company of Qurate's size.

A $150,000 average in salary and benefits per employee.

And another 400 could save the same!

And 400 after that!

I read they spent 21M on severence packages.  That doesn't seem to  make sense if that is true

Qurate 4th Quarter Earnings Report:

"QVC recorded restructuring charges of $24 million at its QxH operating segment related to severance, which is included in Restructuring Costs."

My guess is some received more severence than others. I know someone who got 7 months pay; that is huge for someone who was making a high salary like the person I know.  He will have no problem finding another job either. He was not upset as he saw it coming the past year.

Welll we tried this with Louis  D - Linea line years ago and it worked! They had to bring him back because they received soooooo many phone calls and letters. We never stopped! Read the history and you will find out sometimes it works

@noramae

Louis was not a QVC employee.  Totally different scenario than laying off an employee.

None of the 400 employees are coming back.

For example, they could put a certain host's dance moves on a continual loop.

Management does have someone reading here, case in point, the subject of a particular host was raised today and the entire subject was deleted....there were some questionable statements but I've seen so much worse here and those subjects weren't taken down?

@depglass Do we know that they aren't reading the forums? I seriously doubt upper management reads any of these. However, the mods are very aware of every post

@cjm61   How do we know they aren't reading.... Jane Treacy is still being Jane.

yes, and the complaints come in daily.  That means people are watching.

If the complaints stop and her sales go down, they will know something is wrong.  She still has many sell outs and she always works prime time.  Those slots are given to the hosts who have high sales.

She is one of the top sellers for QVC.  If it ain't broke, they're not gonna fix it for the few who yell the loudest on the boards.

The phone number for corporate is 484-701-1000 press #2. I called this morning and will be calling again - and again. If everyone does this at least Corporate will know what they have done to Dan and Carolyn will have repercussions

oh, that will sure get their attention....NOT!

People are paid to answer the phones....You are not talking to executives, just service reps.. I  had that job at one time, not for QVC though. You just have to be nice to the callers and thank them for their views and bringing it to their attention.

No one cares about the complaints.  They are part of doing business.  Business lay off workers every day.  They always have and always will.

Well, where is he now?  He's gone.

QVC let him go.  They didn't have to bring him back because of the calls and letters, but they did....only for a short time...and poof, he was gone again, forever.

He wasn't an employee, just a vendor.  Apparently, he didn't bring in enough money for QVC and I suspect he was difficult to deal with....a male diva.
