This probably has discussed before, but I have not seen it. This morning Pat had a guest on and they were selling clips for plants. Part of Pat's intro for the guest was that "she is a mom". I genuinely don't understand why that is relevant to the sales of the clips. Along the same lines I hear "She is a busy mom", or "I am a busy mom" or "mom extraordinaire" etc. etc. (By the way, I am not just calling Pat out, SEVERAL hosts say this same thing.)
Is being a "busy mom" supposed to evoke some sort of special feeling that will make me want to buy?
I don't hear vendors who are "busy dad's" or "No kids, but I have a husband/wife!" or maybe "I'm not a mom yet but we are trying, so buy my stuff! lol Why pass over those categories?
Anybody know why being a 'busy mom' is so heavily touted on QVC? My assumption for replies -if any!- will be that the vast majority of viewers are women. For me, that doesn't answer the question. I am a woman, and the hosts/vendors personal lives do not impact my buying.
