@ValuSkr Ally and MB worked together last night and Ally says here's the thing too.

Must be catchy.

But did I read here she’s coming back to train New hires part time? 🥴

I wonder if someone else was up for the job but maybe didn’t like the money being offered and/or changed their plans suddenly on the Q. 🥴

That wouldn’t make Mary Beth too happy, since she’s most definitely a dedicated employee. 💕

@RescueLover I read that comment somewhere on the boards in the past few days. I havn't read MB confirming it. Wishful thinking, maybe Woman Happy

Mary Beth stated herself at the end of her QVC+ video ("Shopping with Heart") that she has been asked to come back part time to help train new hosts.  And to possibly make an occasional on-air appearance.

I would imagine that QVC would employ her as a consultant, thus avoiding having to pay all the benefits, etc. they would incur if they used a current employee for the same job.

I have two questions:

Has QVC ever done such an elaborate goodbye in the past?

Mary Beth is the only trainer, right? So the hosts that are non-stop talkers, jumping around and sharing more than necessary, are trained by her to be this way. Her way of selling is so different, but effective. I wonder if she was told to "encourage" the other way when she trains new hosts.

Hey, they need to milk every last sale out of this that they can.  Times are tough for the Q.

Mary Beth is a team player to the end.

Besides, this is much more palatable than the whole "50 and Fabulous" BS.

@geezerette She was a dedicated employee, all the hosts she trained learned from the best.

@Estellee So true.  That being said .......  too bad more didn't mimic her style.  She probably told them all, "Be yourself."  Little did she know how some would turn out with that advice!

@ValuSkr That did get quite annoying.  I did not see her that often as she must have been on more during the day.  But anytime I did see her, it was not long before she said that.

Maybe the high energy auctioneer selling didn’t start with Mary Beth though.

They each had Mentors remember. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@beach-mom

I don't know.  She has trained many, but I've also read that other hosts have "mentored" new hosts.  Is there a difference, I don't know.

Mary Beth also encourages them to be themselves, but in one video she mentioned in passing something about telling them you have to please QVC but always remember the customer (I can't remember her exact wording).  I took that to mean the QVC tells the hosts how to act/sell, at least to some degree.

I think QVC has pushed the hard sell for the last several years.  Even the more senior hosts are not as calm and relaxed with their presentations as they used to be.

That the customer is the most important.

And that you may not like the item you’re selling. but someone out there will.

She understood that after selling a lampshade that looked like a dress in the early part of her career. She thought it was the ugliest thing and was tired of presenting it.

Until one day a caller called and said she thought it was the Most Beautiful lampshade she ever saw and was getting it for her daughter’s bedroom. 💕
