Since he suffered a heart attack years ago, I find comparing Dan to the "Marlboro Man" to be a rather.....weill, .unusual and awkward analogy.

The reference was not meant to disrespect. I was referring to a rugged cowboy type.  I am aware of the heart attack issue. I dont believe Dan smoked.
