I watched the show and can explain it.
It was like Kristine had a script in her mind for the show and wouldn't deviate from her script. She didn't act natural and have a real conversation with Jim and wasn't paying attention to what Jim was saying. Jim Shore kept trying to explain where the inspiration for each piece came from, and also talk about the quilt symbolism of the quilt patterns on each piece etc, but she wouldn't let him finish his sentences, she kept interrupting him, not to give updates on sales, but to relay an uninteresting unrelated family story..
And in the conversation Jim made a joke, and it was like she wasn't listening to him, or she didn't get that he made a joke ....so even that created an awkward situation for Jim. ...And she kept repeating over and over how long Jim had been with QVC...it was like she forgot what she had scripted in her mind so she kept repeating ..'"15 years".....
For us Collectors Jim doesn't come to QVC very often, and we like to hear the stories behind his art, we want to hear JIM, and Kristine made it all about HER and her SCRIPT....She just can't seem to interact and have a real conversation with vendors. .....
Other hosts that were hired after her, have progressed much further as a host, some even have their own shows, or are co-hosting in prime time.
Courtney Webb did a show with Jim and she did excellent, she told about the pricing, EZ Pay, and then turned the floor over to Jim and let him share his stories, her conversation flowed naturally, she asked Jim questions about the pieces and listened and she's a newer host......
Kristine has had 10 years in the broadcasting field, and interviewing and interacting with guests should reflect this experience.
There have been other shows with Louis and another with Patricia Nash where the vendors didnt look happy with the way their shows progressed, and were difficult for the viewer to watch too. So now Ive given up and she's a channel changer .

I find her to be a bit of a drag. She strikes me as being the type of co worker who kind of is whiney and is like 'how come I didn't get the chance to go to the meeting" or "how come their cubicle has a better bulletin board than mine" " how come they got to go to the conference" wahwahwah.
Also some of her wacky hairbraiding is off putting. She looked like a star trek character with that center part braid look the other day.

I did not know that about her!! And watching her on QVC, find it hard to believe.
With all that experience, she should be a much better host.

@grayhairdontcare I believe you are talking about Katrina Szish. Kristine Zell does not wear braids

The first time she hosted with Louis D. and his Linea line she pronounced his name wrong several times and pronounced "Linea" incorrectly. That was some time ago, but she still isn't prepared many times. Always seems to throw in something about her family as an excuse. The other day when she made an error she said she was tired as she had taken the kids to the park (or somewhere). She has been at QVC quite a while now, but still seems like she needs more training.

Kachina,
First I want to thank you for taking the time to explain this to me. I like Jim Shore, he is so good with explanations and details. This bothers me about Kristine because I have thought her presentations to be very well done. I can't imagine her behaving this way. I wish there was a video on this item as I would love to see her and the behavior you described. I know Jim must have been extremely frustrated with his time with her on that show. I may have to change my opinion about her unless there was a really good reason she acted as she did. Was she in pain? Did she have a migraine where she couldn't think clearly? I just can't imagine her being rude, brief and forgetful. But I do thank you again very much for explaining this t me. Do you remember the item he was selling? Maybe I can find it and see the video. Have a great night.

I must admit, I don't care for the hair braiding either. Your Star Trek reference is spot on!

That's right! I t is Katrina Zish, not Kristine Zell. Names and blondes are so confusing to me with all of the new hosts.
