Why are so many of the sweaters and other tops so darn long??  Petite women look ridiculous in such long tops and that's mostly what is offered.  I don't get it!

I won't purchase a top of any kind that doesn't at least fall below my hips.

Funny you would say that.  Right now I am watching Amy Stran looking lost in a Basso coat. She is my go to regarding petite people.  I am like you petite in size and hate how long sweaters look on me.

I'm not tall & most of my tops are long, love tunics...there's plenty of lengths available at lots of retailers.

My guess is because they sell better on QVC than shorter tops.

Makes me mad when I'm at Dillards and see a pretty top I grab it hold it up to me and it goes to my knees.

I'm 5'5, but, I swear they must make clothes to fit pro basketball women . 6 footers or Bea Arthur.

@JerseyGirl44 I'm very short.  I buy petite sizes that fit.  They are widely available: Talbots, Appleseeds, Land's End and lots of other places.  No need to buy things that don't fit now.  Also, lots of petites wear long tops and especially cardigans and such.

i see plenty of clothing for short folks

i see very little for tall folks

I'm petite and slender. Long tops on shorter people make us look shorter. Also ridiculous with a top 3/4 down my thigh. 👎JT always wears very long tops. Cuts her in half and makes er look shorter and fuller.
