Wanted a quick cup on our way to do errands. SB doors were locked at 10:30AM. Never did find out why.

That is most unusual. No doubt something is awry. It could be a plumbing issue, but it seems they would have posted a note on the door.  Whatever the cause, it is worrisome to close with no explanation.

Our local Starbucks has had odd hours all summer due to staffing shortages, plumbing issues, no power, no water, and 2 drivers hit the building!

The franchises inside of the grocery stores do not have customers waiting like they used to.  The stand alone operations are still busy.

It is Monday after a big weekend.  I'd say insufficient staff.

@Kachina624 Maybe for stand alones? The one in my Safeway was at full staff this a.m. and busy.

@Love my grandkids.  I've never been in a Starbucks.  Didn't know they were also in stores.

The small city I live in (26,000 people) is lucky enough to have two local independent coffee shops.

Having worked there for several years before my current job, it was most likely due to a water or flooding issue.  Can't operate without running water.  Could also be a severe food safety issue or some kind of pest infestation.

My husband works for Sbux now and it's doubtful they'd close now due to short staffing--very different situation than during 2020-2022.
