Re: Leaving is a relief I think.............

I agree. There for a while her hair was longer, she always wore her glasses, and she always wore black. The other night on the Jai show she said, I'm not a trendy person & I never will be. I just like to look classic.

Re: Leaving is a relief I think.............

The hosts, especially the older ones, have to be under tremendous pressure to sell and produce.  It would not be pleasant working under such conditions so it's no wonder Jill feels a huge sense of relief.  I hope she finds a new job that is more satisfying and suits her better.  I'll surely miss her.

agree, she has been "off" for quite a while.  while not a favorite I think she looks happier and as though she has lost a bit of weight.   I don't think that the host job is as easy or fun as it might look and the "stress" has shown on her recently

Didn't Jill work at QVC-UK at the beginning of her career?

Correct.  I think it did her good.  She came back more mature and sure of herself.

Re: Leaving is a relief I think.............

Jill is 50 years old, not exactly a senior citizen(like me) yet. I will be very sad when she leaves. She has been at the Q for 25 years and only recently cut back to 4 or so days per week. Those who joined the Q back in the day may remember when she was the host for Denim&Co, every week. She had had knee surgery and had to sit to sell, but always felt so comfortable with her. She was in broadcasting I believe before the Q and she and David started around the same time and became good friends. Perhaps she will have a businesss of her own, spend more time with her son and her daughter who is now in college. Who knows?

I just know I will miss her very much. She was always one of my very favorite hosts from Day 1

I will totally miss Jill.  I wonder if it doesn't have something to do with the big merger between the Q and HSN??   Pushing out the old with retirement incentives??  Just a thought because so many companies have done this.  I think if that's the case the changes are not going to be pretty in the near future.  I wonder who will be next?!

That's the case for the majority of people when they decide to leave a job.

@grayhairdontcare, I noticed the same thing. I think she is truly at peace with herself with her decision to leave. She had such a relaxed demeanor and look of happiness on her face the last time I saw her on air. I am positive she will not regret moving on.

She probably does appreciate it, think of the personal upkeep that it takes to be on TV regularly...having nails done, having hair cut, colored and styled, not being able to go on vacations when you want, not being able to stay up at night to do something simple like watch a TV show or attend a party, millions of restrictions, things she's been limited to for years. I think for anyone to retire is a relief even tho they love their job.

What?

Since when are hosts told when they can vacation?

Jill is an adult.  I think she can handle her television watching by using a DVR.

Not at all sure where you see all of these "restrictions"!  It looks like a pretty good life to me.
