Re: Leah...just an observation

Good pt, Qurate has everything calculated. It sounds like they are bringing in another class of hosts and usually its at least 3-5 they hire at a time or at least as far back as I can track from Courtney Khondai and her class to Ali Carr and her class and lastly to the newest group, which was Rachel Ellis (my fave), Chelsea Phillips Reid, Melissa McGoff & Thomas Anthony Jones (recently left)

Whether we like it or not, I believe QVC will eventually need to make room for possibly 4-5 new hosts coming in that they recently had auditions for a couple of weeks ago. Unforutnately or maybe happily depending on what each of you think based off the result, but we could be seeing some retirements or firings by end of this year

Re: Leah...just an observation

I love turning on my TV when Leah is on. She is a GODDESS.

Speak ill of her and incur my wrath!

Maybe that’s a slight exaggeration … but I do love her to-the-point presentations. She gives the viewer information about the item, without all the “look at me” nonsense.

I think Leah and those who've been there forever, now have job security and will leave if and when they want to.

The Q knows there would be much too much fuss were they to let them go.

Job security? Is this even a thing nowadays? If Q was worried about a fuss being made over a host no longer here, Carolyn & Dan would be back.

Re: Leah...just an observation

I love Leah!  I have always thought that the producers talking in her ear makes her stumble a bit. I know it would do that to me! It does not seem to bother some of the hosts, but I think getting used to listening to the vendor, listening to the producers, and talking to the audience and also the vendor....all at the same time is a challenge.

As such a long time host, she probably gets more vacation time than other hosts.

She might be behind the scenes helping to train new hosts. I know Mary Beth did this, and was not on air very much during that time.

@65and fabulous   I think Leah is absolutely wonderful.  I hope she's with QVC for as long as she wants to host.

Even with her stumbling for her words and thoughts -- starting several sentences before getting out what she has to say  -- she is still delightful to me.  I don't think it's a stutter at all, that sounds very different.  Even the giggling is just who she is; it doesn't bother me at all.

No, Leah does not train or mentor new hosts.  At least not so far.  Mary Beth still trains them. Plus, each new host at one time or another has mentioned their mentor, and none of them has yet to mention Leah.

@DrumPounder  - It's nice that Leah doesn't fill her presentations with stories about vacays, daughters, and deceased family members.

Leah is a class act!!!!

i never noticed her speech impediment and frankly i could care less.  if she had a severe stutter, then that's different.

let's support women, instead of tearing them down.  She above all does not deserve it.

Re: Leah...just an observation

Regarding Leah's weight I was really surprised to see that someone mentioned it.  I really feel for her, knowing how difficult it is to keep the lost weight lost.   It's a constant battle and the negative feelings one has for themselves when the weight is coming back on and it almost always does,  is overwhelming and sometimes it is all you can think of.  They say that only 5% of people who lose weight can keep it off long term.   And I believe that.  So, to say she needs to lose weight is ignorant.  You don't know what her particular circumstances are and maybe will never have to experience what she has and is experiencing.  It's very difficult to be out there on such a big stage and have the shopping public ciriticize you for a very personal struggle.   Celebrate her for what she was able to do and celebrate her for who she is and how beautiful she looks every day, overweight or not.

I'm not surprised at all. Body Shaming is very popular on this forum, as are mental health evaluations done by looking at someone on a shopping channel.
