Re: re: Le Creuset TSV-anyone afraid these are seconds?

I  don't believe them to be seconds but I am leery of made just for QVC as they could be of lesser quality than sold on the companies site.  Just like Coach, Michael Kors, Kate Spade bags are of lesser quality when made for their Outlets. (not talking about sale bags)

They're not seconds. You can find this exact item on the Le Creuset website for $330.  I just did.  I bought the meringue pot today and used rakuten to get back $20.

This TSV is not a standard dutch oven size for LeCruset. I have a size 26 (5.5 quarts) and a size 24 (4.5 quart) dutch oven from them.

If you go on the LeCruset website you will not find today's size on their site.

This size was made for Q, its not a normal size for the company.

It is on their website, L2595-245G for $330.  However only in gray.

If QVC has this many colors, we could assume it is being retired.

Re: Le Creuset TSV-anyone afraid these are seconds?

I was going to purchase it but realized it's the same size as my other sauce/stew pots that I also boil corn in, steam dumplings, etc...the kind that always come in pot and pan sets. I guess if I wanted a Le Creuset one to complete a collection I would get it but I use my 7.5 Le Creuset for everything so...I passed  on it. I can't justify having 2 of the same size pot, you know?

BTW, I don't think it's a second in any way.

I  got one pot from Boscovs in our area.  Nice price point and certainly nothing as expensive as the Q.  I wanted one big pot for soup.  I honestly don't understand the high prices.  I do know if anyone ever broke into my house I would have a weapon to use for my defense.  Wow, soooo heavy.

I bought a Le Creuset dutch oven a few years ago from Q.  Later, I bought another size with a 20% off coupon from Williams Sonoma.  There was no comparison.  The one from Q chipped and stained with use.  The one from Williams Sonoma still looks like new and it's been used twice as often as the other one from Q.

However, I purchased Le Creuset mugs from Q and they are great.

I don't know if the dutch oven was a fluke.

Le Cresuet of America has this 5.25 on thier site for 330.00.

I asked in the questions if it was the Signature Line, QVC responded that it IS.

That's the higher quality enamel, the larger loop handles, the different ring design on the lid ( from the Classic line) and higher oven temps to 500 degrees. Also the logo is more pronounced on the lid.

You can compare the two types ( Signature and Classic) on You Tube for yourself.

I don't think these are "seconds".

I bought the Provence....I don't own a restaurant where pots and pans are abused....this will last my lifetime because I take care of things. I have NEVER had an issue with Le Creuset or Staub I ordered from QVC....And I ALWAYS compare the prices and items.

Good answer Tomgirl.

I bought this same exact pot from Sur La Table last year with the black knob, but they are not selling it currently. I bought this TSV in Cassis to have a second one because it gets so much use.

I don't think LC are selling a lower quality to QVC and I have various sizes I have purchased from QVC over the years. Most of my pieces were purchased from the LC Outlet, SLT or Williams Sonoma and there is no difference in quality, just be careful when you look it over when you get it and send it back if it doesn't look quite right. There is a LC outlet not far from me and they get QVC LC specials from time to time and it is never marked as seconds.

Re: Le Creuset TSV-anyone afraid these are seconds?

I have no doubt that these pots are first quality.

AND, I have seen them on the LC website; in fact, I received an email featuring them not long ago.

Was tempted; but in the end didn't need another.  My favorites were the Cassis and the Oyster.
