Jane is too short and plump for the entire look. She had to size up to fit in the dress and its hitting the ground, large hat and stripes all overwhelm and emphasize all the wrong things.

@Sooner wrote:Rant warning: Here's my 2 cents on it: Jane does not have a perfect body. Lots of people do not. So what are they supposed to do? Wear only items that "flatter their figure?"
Not buy something cute because it "doesn't flatter their figure?" What if they have a figure that really doesn't lend itself to flattery? Stay home? Wear only black?
One of my pet peeves is the term "doesn't flatter your figure." And this is a prime example. It's a VERY cute dress and looks cute on her! She should be able to wear it and enjoy it with the comments.
So what? Does it mean a woman looks rail thin in something else? If it weren't striped would we think any woman had a perfect figure? And so what if some women don't?
How many cute or pretty or beautiful items have you not bought because of not being "flattered?" And tell me, did what you wore fool anyone?
Caveat: Of course there are exceptions and inappropriate things, but use this cute dress and cute look as an example of what I am talking about. I would see it and say "cute dress Jane!" and that's the end of it. I wish women would lighten up and quit worrying about stripes. Just have fun and enjoy and embrace who we are.
YES to the FIRST underlined comment.
The dress does NOT look cute on her. The stripes ACCENTUATE her LARGE hips.
NONE to the third underlined comment.

jane wants tobe the it girl, everyone is her friend [she claims] I notice her stomach was sticking out in that dress, not flattering at all,I think she thinks she looks great, later she was wearing a sweater/shirt,and it was too tight she kept pullying it down, a larger size would have looked better, then she was showing lands in Jeans and she just loved them so much and said she is a size 8, oh my gosh, no way ,not with those hips ,she is not fooling anyone, the poor man with lands end was trying to talk about the clothing, but jane had to keep interupting him felt sorry for hm,jane knows more than him,I watched this time cause i wanted to see how far she would go with her nonsense.

Well dang I thought Jane looked cute, except for the hat, it was so large, but thats the point in keeping the sun off.
I would undoubtably get ripped apart on these threads if posters saw some of my outfits. But I wear what I like now and when I was young. I never really cared what anyone else thought about my attire.

ON the other hand.....when one goes out today ...just take a quick look....
EVERYONE is looking at thier phone...in the store, the parking lot, driving the car.
NO ONE LOOKS or cares what others are wearing. I sure don't.
People are looking at thier phones, food prices, worrying about things they can't control, thier kids, thier lives.
I know if someone forced me to, I could NOT tell you what anyone was wearing in the THREE stores I was in yesterday, and I could not tell you what kind of car anyone drove or I parked beside.
The Walmart and Aldi clerk passes the stuff down the belt, scans it, stuff gets packed, and if I were stark naked I don't think they'd notice. Long as that credit card reader thing dings PAID ....
And next time, notice how much STUFF is between you and the clerk....sometimes plexiglas, the card reader contraption, the read out mast so you can watch the prices ring up, a little raised counter for your card or keys...so much visual blockage you could be NAKED. No one is looking at your "cute shoes" or your "trendy" 200.00 dollar orthopedic monstrosity clogs....
NO ONE CARES.
Jane is a saleswoman, and the reason we notice her is because we actively put on QVC to check what they are selling. Otherwise, same thing. No one notices.
I am not perfect in size or shape, but at 66 I no longer care what anyone thinks how I look when I go out. I'm clean, clothes fit ( are not skin tight or bags), everything that could offend is properly covered....laces are tied.
NO ONE has ever commented on my clothes or appearance while I was out.
They just don't care!!!
I'd have to be wearing something NOT from QVC to get any kind of notice...in other words, not the plebian selection that is usually one step above WalMart's offerings at any given time.
In my town, wearing ripped jeans, baggy shirts, too tight shirts and ill fitting skin tight leggings on those who should know better, and droopy clothes is the norm!!!
It's western PA, not Rodeo Drive!!!
And when I watch the news from around the country..not much better!!!
I also don't think they sell mirrors in our Walmart.
Which is a good thing for me too on some days!!!
I did an experiment one winter...I wore the exact same outfit EVERY time I went to the store.
No one noticed.
Rant over!

The Q replayed the show with Jane with the dress and hat early Sunday morning. Obviously Jane's co-workers don't care for her or they would of told her she looked like hell to prevent her from wearing that hideous outfit.
