Re: Kudos to Rick and Mary Beth

Our home is split three ways and that doesn't include me!

A while ago I was a true Orioles fan. I split season tickets with a friend.

I never watched pro football much, just college. I watch now, but I won't go out of my way. I do enjoy it.

DH is a HUGE fan of both, so he is pretty happy right now!

I still love baseball, and we are still a "split" family!  Smiley Wink

@kitcat51 well I wonder why anyone would not watch football, at least it is a sport instead of standing around and waiting for someone to hit a ball or watch a bunch of wanna be athletes for upteen days against other countries - foot ball is great you should try it

Rick and Mary Beth seem to be the only hosts who have any clue what the NFL actually is and that the season starts this week.

David was asking tonight when the season started and you just wonder what's wrong with the guy.

Worse than that was when the NFL gear guy was on and Alberti had no clue who any of the teams were but was giddy about the different shades of red, lol.

You have to be kidding.  Just because you're a Packers fan, doesn't mean everyone else should know anything about football. I'm sure there are popular pastimes (ballet, opera, broadway, video games, basketball, rugby, etc. etc). that you know nothing about and no one would ask "what's wrong with the guy ".

Re: Kudos to Rick and Mary Beth

We live in the Kansas City area so the Chiefs are a "BIG DEAL".  I've decided that all you need to do is watch the last 10 minutes of a game.  You'll know what big plays were made (Those are always rerun.) and you will know who won the game.

Since my husband had a heart attack, he only watches the games after he knows who won.  He used to get mad at players who made plays he didn't like and referees that had bad calls.  It has definitely made life more pleasant.  I am usuallly the one who tells him who won!

I took a knee to think about it...the answer is no.

My husband has male friends who don't follow the typical sports at all although hubby is an avid fan of NFL, NBA, MLB. His friends rock climb, hike, fish, boat & have no interest in the NFL, MLB, etc.

Our household is all about racing. We watch NASCAR, Formula One and Motocross.

Agree that David should have known the start date.

Zero interest in football, I'm all about tennis.  DH isn't a sports fan at all.

Football is just like every other form of entertainment; some follow a team and enjoy and some have zero interest. However, a host selling sports related clothing should do a little homework.
