Knock, knock, knock, Q?.....

Is there no one there who can take over for MaryBeth?  She sounds terrible and most likely feels the same.  No spare hosts hanging around to take over?

@faeriemoon.  She says she feels fine; doesn't even have a sore throat, but who wants to listen to that raspy voice?

When this has happened before, they've called another host in, and I've seen them have the upcoming host jump in early. Maybe no one could get in? Even if Mary Beth feels okay, it can't be great to be overtaxing her vocal chords like that. She needs hot tea, STAT!

She was still informative and friendly banter. It was refreshing to have Pat and Jayne Brown doing Monday. They present the fashions and beauty items with all the info you need. I love Amy and missed her, but it's nice to give the other hosts a chance and they weren't shouting and telling us they are over 50, like it matters.

@faeriemoon

These people have lives ....  and odd schedules.  They don't work 9 to 5.

Most of them don't live down the street from the studio and are available at a moment's notice.

Actually, I'm not sure all of them live in that state.

Besides, shouldn't they take Marybeth at her word as to what she can handle?

This morning we're listening to Jayne Brown with the same raspy voice.

Mary Beth is old school. It would probably take a lot to make her stay home. I remember back in the 70's, 80's even the 90's employees were expected to come to work unless they were severly ill.

Both Mary Beth and Jayne have had raspy voices this week.  While they may feel fine, the strained whispery voice is frankly annoying and literal turn off.

If she feels ok, let her be. It's not a big deal to me.
