Kim Gravel article in US Weekly

[ Edited ]

I cannot post the link here but you all can search and read it.

Interesting...

Gravel has reached $1 billion in sales.

Now that's a lot of zeroes.

good for her.  I no longer buy her stuff but it's nice that she's so successful.

@Seminole2 Yes she did mention that on, I believe it was Shawn's podcast with her. Amazing, really. But yes, good for her, wow. No wonder she's on Q all the time! Got to ride it while you can.

She is no dummy that is for sure.  Last thing I bought from her was a top on clearance and love it and her slub knit pants with the crochet down the sides.  I absolutely love the fit of those pants on me and definitely a step up from the beach pants I have from D & C.  Wish she had more of those available in that material.

Most of her items just aren't my style, but I will say I've bought one item, pull-on twill shorts, from Kim, and they have been my favorites for 3 years now. I went back and got two more pairs. Not inexpensive, and originally I happened to get them on sale. I paid maybe 3 different prices all three times and now (and for the most part all 3 years since I've watched for them) I think they're usually around $68.00, plus s&H, that's over $70 for a twilll short...which is too high, imo. (so I never paid that, much as I love them...glad I happened to catch them on sale, which was rare.)

I looked one season, all winter long, thinking they'd go on sale...stayed $68 all winter. But then again....my winter here in CT is not the same winter in many other parts of the country...so, smart on them to keep the pricing.

But, all that said...great fit, feel, have washed and worn well...still love them. Always wanted new colors but she never brought any new colors in 3 years, even though the shorts have kept coming back. Wish she'd have navy, black, olive...and ditch the outdated camo, and the hard to match peach pair. But owell...have enough for now.

I did also buy them in denim but those I really didn't like...awful...stretched out and got baggy, unflattering, with first wear, then the bottom started to unravel. I returned them. Not sure which of her "denim" names it was...but wasn't good.

I like watching Kim. I like a lot of her stuff, but it is usually too expensive. I do wonder how involved she is with the designing though, because a few weeks ago, they were showing her ponte pants, and she acted like she had never seen them before.

I mean.....great news for her. I must be in the minority. I've purchased a few items of her clothing and makeup and felt they were overpriced and the quality just wasn't commensurate with the price. I usually skip watching her shows.

I have also stopped purchasing from Kim's Belle line because the prices do not equate to the style and quality of the item.  But I still like looking in on her shows for ideas and the occassional clearance sale.

I love that she's still very profitable for QVC; a shining star for their fashion category for sure.

What better way to continue to capitalize on Kim's popularity?  Two days of live studio audiences next month.

Not surprising considering the price of her items.  I've bought one thing--her packabelle pants--that I'm happy with but otherwise she and her items do not appeal to me.

With revenue generation of $1 billion+ (in a rather short period of time) it's been obvious that Kim is an extremely valuable asset to QVC.  It's no wonder she gets so much exposure and airtime.

As others have said, make the hay while you can;  it likely won't last forever.
