Just learned something interesting...

Yesterday, I ordered 2 pair of Naturalizer shoes, "Alyah" ballet flat style, from HSN at $44.50 each with free shipping. Tonight, I noticed QVC has the same exact shoe, but selling at $40.46  also with free shipping. So, thinking that HSN and QVC are now affiliated/merged/the same company per their advertising, I called HSN to inquire and ask for a price adjustment. The customer service rep told me in no uncertain terms that they don't match other companies prices and that HSN and QVC are 2 separate companies and not affiliated. HUH? I'm a bit confused and am wondering if any of you also assumed they were joining forces. Please enlighten me if you can! Thanks!

@msvictoriaThink of Macys and Bloomies or Chico's and Black and White, etc.   Lots of companies operate independently under larger umbrella companies.

@msvictoria - @1Snickers is correct: QVC and HSN are both owned by Qurate Retail Group, but they are two completely separate companies. You can learn more about all the finer details of the parent company and the companies it owns by clicking through the "Learn About Us" links at the bottom of any page on the QVC website.

Re: Just learned something interesting...

If the Q doesn't want situations like this to happen, they need to stop sending hosts over there, and stop advertising their affiliation with HSN.  Shoppers will EXPECT them to price match, and in reality, they wouldn't be wrong in that expectation.
