Can you imagine having a business, maintaining a message board, paying to have full time monitors of that board and allowing someone to post a message hoping that people don't shop at your business?
Personally, I think you'd have to be crazy to keep those posts up.
And, I truly question the audacity of those that post that message but, that's a topic for another day.
Just my thoughts . . .

My problem is that I keep hoping......
Because I like QVC and always have. Love the convenience. I've never been (and am not still) an impulsive buyer but I used to find all my clothing here and when I found one item I loved, I'd go right back and buy every color I liked! I have two or three "sets" of tops that still rotate on season that are in great shape, fit wonderfully and the fabric and manufacturing superb. But I can no longer buy clothing on QVC for all the reasons we've complained about.
I can no longer buy shoes. Rare to find them comfortable (which is weird) because I usually buy shoes on sale off the rack size 9... I have no foot problems.
I do not buy QVC's food. Have had several problems and won't do it again, besides I find it very expensive.
I have bought jewelry, mostly on clearance. I've purchased one or two designer pieces but have had trouble with clasps on one designer's items and have stopped buying them because the bracelets fall off my wrist. But I still buy other pieces on occasion.... but am extremely careful in choosing what I buy because the prices are astoundingly high.
Have been generally disappointed in QVC Home goods. Pricey and some of it falls apart in the box before I even receive it.
But I keep hoping.....

@Squirrel Lover Nasty, snarky remark and it's none of your business where anybody shops or what they buy. Nobody said it was the Q's fault; they don't charge stuff and ship it out without an order obviously.
@The irony of this comment made to @Squirrel Lover is so immense it's almost palpable!
eta - In case it wasn't clear in my post, and I think it wasn't, the irony I mentioned was not that Kachina is nasty or snarky. That was not my point. What I meant was that compared with the OP's post, it was ironic to me that Squirrel Lover's post was the one called out as being nasty & snarky.

@Squirrel Lover I do agree with your statement. However, QVC can be very high pressure and also misleading. For example, we discussed just a day or so ago on the LOGO subforum that the host at midnight was really hyping that the black TSV was so popular that you shouldn't even go to sleep and hope it's still here the next morning, all the while getting a bit frantic about the quantity updates. She said pretty much the same thing about a $150 necklace; how many were left (not many) and how if you want it you'd better hurry because there were only X many left. I agree with you that we are all adults and shouldb e able to resist using willpower, yet the hype was very powerful. The black dress was left in my size and so was the necklace at the end of TSV day.
Also, the buy more and save discount encourages people to get two or more of an item (esp. since QVC rarely has sales and they aren't very good sales at that).
Again, I do agree with your statement; we all have to take personal responsibility for our actions. That said, it's easy to get swept up in the "I'd better buy it now before it's gone" hype and think about it all later, possibly with regrets.
I've watched QVC since a couple of months after it started up, and the earlier hosts IMO weren't as high-pressure, hyper as the current hosts are.

@Pearlee Just when I think you've become human, you revert to form. No one will ever accuse you of consistency.

@Kachina624 Given your post above, nor you.

@Pearlee, I agree with everything you wrote here. This same host kicks off many of the TSV's, and she always says "Don't go to bed without placing your order, because your color, size etc. won't be here in the morning. " I have noticed they always call out one particular color on TSV's, and caution everyone to get it now. I think they bring in a limited color to generate interest, and panic. It gives a mindset to hurry and order.

I am trying to do the same thing. I have 5 boxes of stuff for goodwill, much of it from the Q. I also have enough make up and skin care for 20 people. The same with shoes. I think much of my shopping is due to loneliness. I am by myself so I try to fill a void to no avail.

Every Spring I go through the whole house ~ attic, shed, garage, closets, everything ~ and start a donate pile for a local wildlife refuge organization not far from our house. This year I loaded up our Honda CR-V not once, but twice. I noticed most of the things were from either QVC or HomeGoods. That being said, I still shop (and enjoy shopping) QVC. I just changed the type of things I buy. For instance, I just ordered some outdoor furniture covers from the Q. I haven't received them yet, but the reviews are 5-stars and the prices were great! I blame no one but myself for all the stuff I bought them ultimately donated but I did learn something. When I want to buy something (from anywhere) I remember that something similar was probably donated and that usually stops me in my tracks. Next Spring I hope to only load up the car once with donations, lol!
