I am curious as to the reason they have two hosts for an hour show? I can understand the reason for a three hour show, but one host can't handle one hour? Courtney adds NOTHING to a show, so why is she on with Amy?

Why do they need "hosts" at all??

I find it interesting that years ago one host would do 3 hours, alone, and do their own makeup and hair. They also had no vendor reps. The shows were entirely done by one host, and done well.

I am glad for them they now have makeup artists and stylist to assist as well as vendor reps. This should give them more time to study up on the items they will present, which most times doesn't seem the case.

So, I agree, why do we have two and sometimes three hosts. Do they have too many hosts now that it is not live for 24 hours and need to put them in a time slot with another host? Maybe too many hosts? I have wondered this myself. To me, it feels like they want the presentation to be more like two people just chatting about an item to make us feel more comfortable, thinking it more believable? I don't know.

Many things have improved over time but I have always thought one host was enough.

They don't need two hosts but I find the two host programs more lively.  I don't like vendor only shows on QVC2; very boring.

it doesn't affect my life one way or the other so if the Q wants two hosts, fine by me.

I happen to like both Amy & Courtney.

@cjm61 I woke up at 3:30 AM this morning and could not fall back asleep.  I turned on our bedroom TV, as this sometimes helps me fall back asleep because I get sleepy trying to pay attention to it.  I was surprised that the regular QVC station was a repeat.  I thought they went back to live 24 hours a day, so I missed that change.  I turned on the Hallmark channel and found one of my favorite Christmas movies, so I watched that from 4:00 to 6:00.  Now, I am tired!

As far as hosts, three is too many.  Sometimes two is too many (if JT is one of them.)  I don't know what QVC is doing.  I don't think they know either.

Did the makeup artists come back?  I know during Covid, the hosts had to do their own makeup and hair but I thought I heard they decided to continue with letting the hosts do their own hair/makeup.

I don't think hair/makeup artists are back in the studio.

@Puppy Lips QVC is live from 7am - 3am EST. QVC2 is live from 11am - 12midnight EST.

@cjm61  I could not agree more!  I say this all the time.  I remember the days when one host was all that was needed.  They never had vendors.  These days there are more often than not two hosts and every single item has to have a vendor, either skyped in or now some back in person.  I scratch my head.  The hosts are paid pretty well and do their homework.  Why can't they present the items alone?!  I miss the good ole days--one host and not a lot of crazy off-the-wall antics!

The only exception about the need for a vendor I would say is with technology, like computers.  The vendors are the best at explaining everything and answering questions.

I agree with what you said about too many hosts.  That is also my theory.  They have too many hosts they are paying, so they have to double up to give them something to do.
