I just turned on the Q ( I have been watching Stefano Oro all weekend on Shop HQ, drooling over the gold), and I see host Julia C. selling a very vibrant palm dress designed by Alberti.

She then stated she has three plants, and she named them all, and she takes them on field trips, and has kept them alive for a few years.

How cute, how sweet, and how youthful.

I have NEVER named a plant-- I have dozens in my house, and thousands outside in my yard,--nor did the idea every occur to me.

Some of my trees are over a hundred years old--I wonder if they ever had names from previous owners.

Of course all my dogs and cats have names--and they know their names as well--do the plants understand?  Hmm...something to ponder.

@FancyPhillyshopper.  Sounds like Julia needs a 4-legged pet or a friend.  I'd be embarrassed to tell the world I took my plants on field trrips.

@Kachina624 - Julia does have a dog that she talks about all the time. And FWIW, that's an observation from someone who avoids her shows as much as possible. Overall, I don't really care if she talks about plants or pets—I just wish she'd do all of her talking more quietly and professionally.

I love my indoor plants. I should rather say "trees." They're my favorite right now. My new one this spring is a Fig tree, promising to show figs this year. It's small and not a fast grower, so I hope I can bring it along and don't lose it.

My other tree is called a "Chinese Good Luck Tree" bought about three years ago. It was tiny and took a while to get going; it's about 2-1/2 ft. tall now. Hope my luck is fast growing, too.

Never named my plants but give them good care. Lots of people talk to their plants, so I say a few words to them. I heard Julia talking about her plants, giving them names and taking them with her. I just thought Julia had no "story" to tell so had to come up with something.

Julia's pup Huck is so beyond adorable! I also wish she toned it down. I am not sure what is worse her cackle that sounds like a Halloween witch or Mary's constant school girl giggling. They both would be so much more bearable if they toned down a hair or two or 3 or x 100, LOL!!

Carrying her plants around seems beyond the pale. But who would make up something that bizarre.

Julia has been there a while now and doesn't change. I think some more training might help her out.

@febe1

Amen! OMG, I thought the O.P. had made an error with thinking of Alberti, but meant to say Kerstin with the dress. I had to turn QVC on here at 1:00am est because I figured it was a simple mistake by the O.P.. However, low and behold the O.P. is correct! Alberti is now designing womens dresses, WOW!!

Julia had just presented Kerstin's Studip Park design before that dress, so I figured Julia made an ON AIR blunder, but NO!! Alberti is now designing women's dresses, WOW!! Nothing wrong with a man doing so, but I would of expected a fashion designer, such as Isaac or Dennis Basso to be doing so. Maybe, its a future goal of Albert's, who knows. I am just a little bit in shock!

I like the clothing Alberti has been "designing"

@FancyPhillyshopper   I needed to listen to that for myself, since it sounds weird.

Just as I thought, Julia used the term field trips figuratively to mean she takes them on her balcony to get more sunshine and air.  She's had them for 3 years and has grown very attached to them.  She named them, talks to them, and will be taking at least one of them to Barbara King to replant it for her, or show her how to do it.

My sister has three new houseplants after never having plants her entire life.  They were given to us after my mother passed on Easter Sunday, and I asked my sister to keep them all.  She has named all three of them and talks to them, since she read that helps them grow.  Smiley Happy

It all sounds pretty tame and cute to me.

Embarassed? Beyond the pale? A little sense of humor goes a long way.😂
