Given the ever decreasing amount of airtime QVC gives to jewelry, Julia might want to focus on something else to fall back on.

I actually think this is one of the areas in which Julia always does a very poor job, so the fact that she doesn't present jewelry often seems like a good programming decision. She rarely seems to know anything about gemstones, precious metals, settings, sourcing, or other key qualities of jewelry. This likely isn't her fault, as I'm guessing there isn't much going on in the way of training hosts to specialize in individual product areas anymore. And fortunately for QVC, Michelle Lau is great at her job, which makes the host's job much easier and requires them to know less in order to sell the products.

@loriqvc Unfortunately, you are right. I thought Julia did a good job on Rose of Tralee this year, but her performance on Creede Silver Strike 22nd Anniversary was dismal.

The hosts these days don't give enough information about the gram weight, country of origin or the existinance of other items in inventory that match it.

None of these new hosts (including the NY fashion editor host) have displayed any knowledge of jewelry and admit that they don't even know the birthstones.
