Item listed as sold out when it isn't....anyone else experience this?

Serveral time when I go to order something that is on tv it is listed as sold out. Today I clicked on the item that is showing as Live on TV. The item is still being sold on TV. But when I click on it, it says it is sold out. I tried it several times and it says, sorry this item is sold out....I finally clicked on the item # and it showed it was available. I ended up ordering it. But there were several times when I just could not order as it stated sold out. Anyone else have this issue?

I have found out for me when something gets sold out during the presentation I'll try again in the morning and there will be some. I think people change their minds.

@ottowatoo Yes, I've had that happen a number of times. I believe I manually entered the item number and was able to work around the glitch.

I think when customers put the item in their cart, it gets removed from inventory. If enough people do that, it shows as sold out. However, if the customer doesn’t check out or deletes it from their cart, then the item goes back into inventory.

I think the items stay in carts for a limited amount of time? So, if I really want something, I will keep checking during the show and it usually comes back so I can get it.

I think that is behind the hosts saying be sure to check out. I know they have stated that if you don’t check out, your items could be gone, but I don’t have any other explanation for things coming back into stock before the end of a show. There is no time to cancel.

@cosmic1 You are correct that items in your cart are deducted from inventory. One of the hosts last week mentioned this as well.

@cosmic1 I think this is exactly what is happening especially if the item is very popular like last Sunday's TSV. People put it in their carts and then either have second thoughts or just neglect to check out. That's why the hurricanes last Sunday were showing sold out then available. This went on during Sunday afternoon and even on Monday.

@ottowatoo @Has happened to me several times. Try item # maybe a couple times and item will finally come up

Yes, people change their minds and often credit cards dont go thru.
