I think it would be a great idea for the original poster to be able to a thread he/she started, even after there are responses.  Sometimes a thread goes in a direction that was not intended by the original poster.  In such cases, she should be allowed to close it for that reason.

 

It would lessen the burden of thread closings on the mods.....

@panda1234 You can if there are no responses. Otherwise, click on the Report option and request Mods to dump it. I did it on a something I posted and they deleted it.

No, it isn’t a good idea. Too many would delete when the conversation didn’t go their way. That defeats the purpose of a discussion board.
