I don't like to feel like I'm being extorted.

My two-cents' worth: I would much rather just shop on the QVC website, but if there's a good coupon code that is for the app only, I have no problem downloading the app, making a purchase, and then uninstalling the app. If I don't already know what I'd want to apply the coupon toward, I'll still shop on the website and then go to the app when I'm ready to check out. It honestly is a very small added step to complete an order. And since I'm almost never a "select customer" for the coupon codes that are more broadly offered, I'll take a discount when I can get one.

And for any who may not be aware of this, the QVC app isn't gathering or storing any information that isn't already being provided as you use your desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or other device to shop the website. Most web browsers can and do collect more data than an app. And when you log into the QVC app, you use the same account details as you would on the website—you don't have to enter payment information or do anything different to place your order. Your encrypted and protected payment data is still encrypted and protected.

So happy shopping to all! I say there's no reason to feel or be excluded—if there's something you want and a promotion available to make it cheaper to get it, why not take advantage while you can?  Smiley Happy

I don't understand why anyone would think the QVC app is gathering any more information on its customers than the regular online system.

I have the app on my iPad and used the 20% discount on the Squirrel Brand TSV.  $12 in my pocket is better than in theirs, IMO.

Don't like the way a company does business?  Vote with your feet.  Why do you care what others think?

I've noticed that the Q is really pushing using their app by offering savings to app users only.  I have no interest in being tracked by using the app.  Personally I don't feel it is fair to offer savings to app users only.  What do you think about non-app users being left out of savings?

It's just the way some companies function. It's fair and legal.

I can't imagine using Q's app. The promo would have to be something out of this world to even get me to look at their app. These promos with $20 or $40 max off don't entice me to the website let alone to an app.

Re: Is It Fair?

[ Edited ]

I used it yesterday to purchase the Squirrel TSV also!

Great savings and Great App!  The purchase was seamless and flawless.  I love the QVC App and use it for most of my purchases.

I find this an odd topic because a discussion this long, and yes I have added more than my share, about is a coupon  "fair" seems odd when I think about it.

Why is "fair" even an issue about a coupon?  Talk about a problem. . . Woman Embarassed

In reality, it is a non-issue and certainly nothing fair or unfair is afoot. Everyone is afforded the same opportunity of using the QVC app, right? Whether or not someone chooses to use it or implements the necessary steps to use it is on them and no one else.

Honestly, what am I gonna do about it? There is no privacy anymore. I sold my soul a long time ago to Apple, Google, Amazon, and every other technology company out there. I go about my daily life and don't think about it

Life is not fair, one of the first things everyone learns.

To be worried you are "being tracked" at this time in the world, is unfortunately very naive because everyone is being tracked somehow, not just via apps you use. Like Orwell said in "1984", "Big brother is watching you". Everywhere there are cameras for personal and public use. Those security doorbells watch you, road cameras are watching. Your online activity is tracked too, regardless if on your phone, Ipad or laptop. Cookies and trackers are all over the internet and your devices.

There have been so many credit card and medical data breaches on top of that, I am willing to bet that most everyone with a SSN or a credit card has been impacted at least once in their life by now whether you were formally notified, or not. There is no such thing as true privacy anymore.
