Is 27 a full complement of hosts?

I remember when 22 was the magic number. Now that Q2 is live a lot, are the extra five all they will add? So many hosts coming and going. And what happened to Q3? I don't think I got it anyway.

QVC3 is a live stream service. Some people get Q3 as a channel on their regular TV lineup but that depends on the carrier.

Just a few years ago (pre pandemic) there were close to 50 hosts, so their numbers have been greatly reduced. I only watch the Main channel. The other channels and streaming don't interest me.

Twenty-seven sounds about right. There are 168 hours per week. A host's shift usually runs 2 - 3 hours, say 2.5. So, there are 67.2 shifts per week. One person can do five shifts per week, so Q would need 13.4 hosts. But since they often double-up, let's say they need twice as many, or 26.8 hosts, or 27. But they don't always double-up, which leaves some availablity for hosts to work a shift or two on QVC2.

@Rockycoast

.

I've been watching on & off for about 25 years. When did QVC ever have close to 50 hosts?

@Caaareful ShopperAs I stated it was a few years ago. Maybe 4-5 years. Going to the "Meet Our Hosts" page I counted 48 hosts pictures.

@Rockycoast

That's very interesting. I have been watching 4 - 5 years ago. QVC never had anywhere near 50 hosts, not in the US at least.

.

Perhaps there was something that posted all of their international hosts.

@Caaareful Shopper48 was what I counted, so yes there were that many US hosts at one time. With 3 channels, full and part time hosts. Not that out of the question to have that many. With sales the way they have been these past few years QVC is not what it use to be. Hosts are not immune to being let go or some have left on their own accord.

Also in years past there was actually 24/7 live broadcast, and not the current overnight encore recordings.

@ValuSkr good math, but regular QVC is no longer live 24 hours per day.  Woman Happy However, as you said, they do have to staff QVC2 for the limited hours it is live.

In my opinion, they have too many hosts; that is why they pair them up.  They have to give them something to do!  Besides the fact that they think that pairing them up is more entertaining to the viewers!  Woman LOL
