Re: Irish Products - St. Patrick's Day

Some of the Waterford is not made in Ireland. Only one vase is made in Ireland.

Re: Irish Products - St. Patrick's Day

I love my Connemara marble. I have a couple of pendants that I have 2 of, because they're such different shades of green. I do wish that there were some more, different pieces this year in the marble. I also wish they'd do a small bowl or tray in the marble.

I wish I had gotten the St. Bridget cross on easy-pay day, and missed it today.

Re: Irish Products - St. Patrick's Day

I like that the products are mostly produced in Ireland by family businesses vs. mass-produced in China. Of course, that translates to higher prices, which I am glad to pay for something that I view as higher quality and sometimes a little bit special.

Fortunately QVC has 300+ days per year of mass-produced in China stuff to appeal to those who thing the Ireland-produced items are too expensive. Does it have to be an all or nothing proposition?

Re: Irish Products - St. Patrick's Day

No thanks to QVC for signing off St. Pat's Day at 7pm this year. I did not get to watch any of it. By the time I got home from work settled in and tuned in, Jane was signing off. More money in my pocket and less in yours! Have no desire to watch Lisa doing PM Style, or even worse, Isaac! Guess this tradition is over for me if this is a new marketing decision....

I have noticed on the Irish products, some now say "imported", instead of "Made in Ireland", what does this mean, Belleek included-- does this mean imported means no longer made in Ireland (like Waterford) too?

The Irish specials need new products too! I hope QVC will resume the 24 hr Irish specials.

No, it has nothing to do with things from Ireland not being made there. This is a change everyone noticed sometime this year. Has to do with changes in laws, supposedly, of having to report where something is actually from. The products from Ireland are still made there. However, if one plans to avoid things made in other countries by name it does make it harder to determine their source....

Re: Irish Products - St. Patrick's Day

I love seeing how beautiful Ireland is, having been only in the airport on a plane change from Spain. So green and fresh. I have to remind myself how I can't stand wool on my skin! I love also to hear the stories in that beautiful Irish lilt. The vendors seem genuinely nice. I hope they are!
