QVC is a very large live tv business, right? How can they allow hosts to go on air with chipped, uneven old nail polish (glittery) and nasty cuticles. Sorry its just hard to watch. Why not have an in house manicurist to do manis and pedis before showtime. The pM IM show tonight was a prime example.

They can "allow" anything they want.  If you find it that hard to watch then you have a choice.  We are watchig fashion.

Wouldn't that affect the price of the merchandise?  You know, another employee, benefits, etc.  Woman LOL

What if the nail chipped while on the air?  I'm just full of questions tonight.

I wonder if it's really as bad as we think. What I mean by that is that HD TV magnifies everything. I can look at my hands and think they do not  look bad, but that's because I do not have an HD Camera zoomed onto my hands making everything larger. It's like one of those make up mirrors in my view which magnifies your face to X 20 times, and you see things that you normally would not pick up.

That's my thoughts.

true but if part of my job was to have my hands on HD screens I would be sure that my manicure was on point before going to work.

Mgmt does not care about things like this apparently

I have to say that I completely agree.  Obviously, QVC can conduct their business in any way they choose.  However, it has always astounded me that they have their hosts go on air with chipped nails.  It is particularly amazing when the host is presenting jewelry.  There is a difference between a manicure that merely needs to be refreshed and chipped, broken nails.  The former is understandable.  We can’t expect hosts to get a mani every other day.  But I have seen hosts with nails that look like they haven’t been worked on in months.  I, too, have wondered why they don’t have an in house manicurist.  It just seems like good business sense to me, since chipped nails take away from a presentation.

I don’t think her nails are chipped. I think it’s just the way the glittery nail polish looks on my HD screen. She just has polish on her natural nails, that never looks as flawless as artificial nails.

I think this situation occurs so rarely (I've never seen it) that it is a non-issue.

@Equuleus Oh no. Not another “change the channel person”.
