There was so much discussion and anticipation about David's return from vacation over the last couple of weeks that I got to wondering. I have repeatedly read where David is the major factor for people tuning in and buying merchandise when ITKWD is on. Had me wondering if sales in his shows dropped significantly while he was on vacation. I say significantly because you have to take in account that he was on vacation while most sales were probably down because of the holiday. I have a hard time believing any one host makes an individual but an item and am trying to understand the concept that a certain individual holds the power to increase sales. Just a curious question.

David is a fan favorite! He has a good rapport with countless, regular viewers, and customers. Many trust his recommendations of food, kitchen gadgets and gizmos, appliances and cleaning products, because of his descriptions and knowledge of the products. He is the resident "foodie" at The Q. I have been a regular customer for YEARS and have purchased many, many kitchen items based on his recommendations. His passion for cooking, and understanding of the need for reliable workhorses in the kitchen, like Kitchenaid products, Vitamix and others, are important to me. He is like a friend that you meet every Sunday for lunch. It stands to reason that sales are better with David at the helm, and I miss him when he is gone.😊

It’s funny how perceptions vary. I find he shares little about the product and does nothing but list colors and quantity sold. The vendors in his shows give the details.
He persuades me to buy nothing. I much prefer ITKWM on Q2.

The fact that most of the TSVs, kitchen related or not, are always prevalent in David's kitchen shows seem to indicate that many people will only buy "from David" and that may be the only time they watch. So far, they haven't had David sell make up or clothes, but maybe that will change! I know that I have been switching off David's shows once the 30 minute TSV presentations start and are usually at least twice in a 3 hour show. And, yes, the ITK shows are the only ones I actually tune into.

There is no host on any "shopping" channel that would make me buy a product on his/her recommendation. David is not a "friend." He is a salesperson. I much prefer checking reviews from people who have actually bought and paid for the product.

A lot of people like David and tune in to watch him. Then they see things that he interestes them in and talks them into buying and they buy.
Simply get them to listen and they will buy. If they don't listen they don't buy.

While many here may not be influenced by a QVC host, I believe it has been demonstrated and reported numerous times that David strongly influences sales. His location shoots and studio audiences have garnered large and wildly enthusiastic crowds.
He has fans as devoted to him as those of singers, actors and athletes.
I have no reason to disbelieve that, given the amount of air time he is given along with his books and now multiple product proliferation. He is clearly, to me, a very, very valuable asset to QVC.

@Lisa now in AZ ...... Your right so far they haven't had him sell make-up or clothes. I would like to see him sell merchandise outside his "comfort" zone. If he draws people in to buy the kitchen items that are repeatedly shown on his show maybe he can draw them in for some of the other merchandise. I have seen Alberti sell beauty products and clothes. Would be a nice change to see all the host rotated around to different presentations instead of being associated with just certain merchandise. I am sure QVC pays them well ..... let us see as versatile they are.

There's a "home show" w/ David on the program schedule. It capitalizes on the southern hospitality factor.
