Last week I posted about a delivery problem re shrimp potstickers I received - spoiled due to delivery delays. Thought I had then cancelled all food orders, but I missed one. Well, yesterday afternoon I received a 12/7 shrimp potsticker delivery: spoiled again!
I checked the tracking. The 12/7 delivery left Maryland on the 8th; was delivered to Rhode Island on the 9th, then to Massachusetts where it was received at noon same day. It sat at the UPS facility (ten minutes from my house) for 17hrs before being loaded on a truck at 5a.m. on 12/10. This shipment was delivered to me at 2:39p.m., sitting in the truck for over 9-1/2hrs!!! Thus, another trip to the Transfer Station (dump)!
Vendors should provide better packaging, more than a small package of dry ice. Vendors also should provide a better turnaround time. Granted shipping is costly; however, with the prices we pay for these convenience foods, along with the high volume sales, a fair profit would be attained. And of course, QVC should only offer items with vendors who comply, imho.
Though I will no longer purchase, something should be done so others will not be disappointed and frustration.

I have noticed UPS is not doing so good this year on shipping.
All food items should be sent Fed Ex.............imo

I've had a great experiences with UPS. Placed an order on December 7. Delivery date was supposed to be December 12.
It was delivered by UPS on December 10.
UPS and Fed EX have been telling retailers for months shipments would be slower this year.

Why? So they can claim no one was home and they couldn't deliver or some other bogus reason to delay delivery, often more than once. UPS is doing a good job in my area, as they usually do. Given that deliveryy orders are extremely high this year, one might suspect they're all overwhelmed and, as part of that realization, not order perishable foodstuffs for delivery other than from a local resource and for local delivery.

@MalteseMomma I hope they do better with food than with important financial documents. Twice they delivered tax materials of mine to the wrong address- no problems since CPA switched to USPS.

In my area, FedEx is less dependable than UPS.

@MalteseMomma. In my experience, FedEx is the kiss of death for a package. I won't even buy an item that might be shipped by them.
UPS just has more than they can handle. I'm sure they're peddling as fast as possible. As @eddyandme concluded this is not the year to order perishable food. People can't even get their candy delivered.

I've had nothing but problems with FedEx. Now, when I know I'm expecting a package, I leave my blink on so I know when something was delivered.
