I posted on the handbag thread about the sale of bags being down...down... down... I noted there, could it be that even we handbag dames have grown weary of the very limited and stale brands being offered constantly, and for top dollar and with ridiculous shipping charges...? Looks like it...

I agree, stevie! That caught my eye, too, along with the use of the word "fresh" several times. I must have missed those offerings.

I'm telling ya Stevie QVC provides some of the best comedy around these days...LOL!
And in future press conferences we will probably hear that a sharp decline in the belief in the Easter Bunny has impacted sales for the second Quarter..........
SPURT, I noticed, too, that he said something about focusing on diversity. That is a good one!!

I also thought that the comment that they pulled back the airtime for electronics and computers was a good one, too. They are such kidders!!

Yes, the absurdly high QVC shipping charges to try on a handbag and return shipping fees has got to be a factor when deciding whether to purchase a bag or not. Add to that the high cost of the bag and the limited number of brands available -- why wouldn't people look elsewhere and comparison shop?

Remember when they used to carry medium priced Stone Mountain handbags!!! And they seldom even show the lower priced Tignanello bags anymore either....
And whats up with the styles of handbags too (good ole QVC always limiting their offerings ) .....its either these gigantic or large shoppers or crossbody smaller bags...whatever happened to MEDIUM bags....but that's okay because I can find better prices so many options at local stores these days (Marshalls, TJ's, Stein Mart, JCP)........and even Dillards & Macys will have good sales! And no outrageous shipping!

Exactly when did they pull back airtime for electronics (computers/tablets)???????? Oh must've been the time they showed all day vacuums instead or beds....that's what Q thinks is diversity...........

I bought Stone Mountain leather bags and wallets from QVC back in the day.
I will look at Winners in Canada but their selection is wanting. TJ Maxx in the U.S. Has a better selection. On my next trip this summer to Las Vegas I will be looking at handbags at Marshall's, Macy's, Dillard's, and the outlet mall that has Coach and Michael Kors.
Canadian prices for leather bags has also become expensive, sometimes Hudson's Bay has deals online but their department store inventory is poor.
I have been on a handbag diet for a year -- it was not intentional at first, but it just worked out that way. I was not going to pay high prices and high shipping or settle for some bag I don't love.

Exactly @TY... I mean, come on... if you don't want one of four or so brands then you're out of luck shopping here... And when you think that you potentially spend $20 just to decide a bag isn't for you and send it packing, well who needs it... Talk about a twenty dollar bill alert !!

All right... shocking, I realize, but I have to say that I do believe QVC when they say they are programming computers less than they did... I mean, I still think they feature them too often, but I see them listed in the program guide a good bit less than 'in the day'...
