I can see through magic markers.    I shred for the most part.

 

I think markers and the rollers are more for keeping the professionals from stealing your ID.   A lot of that is scanned and they will confuse the scanners.

Just fyi, you can find these in the As Seen on TV aisle in many stores.  I've seen them in Walgreens and they are much cheaper.
