I didn't turn on the q or the h for at least 4 days!!! Before that, I had the voice turned off because there are some hosts that I don't care to hear,,,and actually some I don't care to see. I just came on tonight because I wanted to see what the TSV was. I wasn't interested,,,I actually have stopped buying clothes, because the prices are getting up there, and I have to spend too much to return. Now that I looked at today's schedule, it's same old, same old. It is sometimes hard to break an addiction, but I'm trying! How about you?

I still enjoy watching every now and then. I know I don't watch near as much as I use to but I like to catch a show every now and then. If I see something I really like or feel someone else would like to receive, I have no reservations in buying. I also enjoy many of the hosts, however, a couple I do not watch.
If you feel you are addicted to QVC, you are doing a good job resisting. Stick with it.

I agree I have also broken the addiction of being glued to the shopping channels,(now glued to Court TV.)The prices of items on these channels have become ridiculous,
I know it is the times we are living in with cost of shipping their salaries. But the boredom of seeing the same items over and over and seeing some vendors more then others is also boring. I do have some items on auto delivery with the Q and HSN but recently heard from HSN an item is being discontinued. When it comes to occasions like birthdays or holidays I find myself maybe watching a bit more and it is is a convenience especially as I'M getting older to have them send the gift.
I started back with the Q when I moved away from the city in the late 80's and thought the Q, and HSN was the greatest thing ever invented for a Mom with kids, living in the boonies ,but now in today's world there is such a wider way of getting items to your home with just going to your computer or phone and not being glued to the television
Think all the shopping channels have to work a bit harder to keep their customers coming back as there is a lot of competition for them then ever before.

Many years ago, when I first discovered home shopping (before the Internet), I would have either HSN or QVC on as background all the time. I bought a fair amount of "stuff" then.
I was working then, so my viewing time was limited to sick days or days off ![]()
Fast forward and I rarely even tune it for many reasons which have been discussed here...none of them positive.
Haven't bought anything in a long time.
You get over it ![]()

@Flady1 Good for you! For many QVC is an addiction. There are better things to do than shop all day. Keep up the good work!

@Flady1
Congratulations on cutting back if that was your plan. I know that has taken some determination.
Because I am losing my vision, I cut cable this year. That means that "watching" QVC is out for me. For a while,I occasionally listened on my iPad, but I discovered that little information really was conveyed in the audio part of the sales presentations. I can sometimes check items on air and do still order, but my days now are filled with caring for my mom, interacting with my cats, cooking, trying to run my home, and listening to audio books and podcasts.
A short time without QVC convinced me
that there really was life without listening
to sales pitches. It also has helped me
save a little bit of money too.😄

I cut way back as well. I just figure I don't need to watch and can look on line but really just don't need all that stuff either. I would rather go shopping around here.
It sort of does become a habit after so long. I work so not like I have it on all day but I do have it on more than I need to.
Good for you and just keep it up. I like the forums the best anyway.

That's great! It truly does become a habit and can be difficult to break away. I'm getting much better too, I am one of those who does have it on in the background often but on days when there is nothing I am interested in I won't even turn the TV on. I'm trying to read and listen to music on those days instead of mindlessly watching shopping channels. There is a lot I enjoy though, I watched a lot of the Christmas shows and today I'll have HSN on because I like to watch Iman and she has the TS. However, I don't plan on purchasing anything. (Sadly, that could change, LOL) I am going to sit out on my deck though for awhile this morning, the humidity finally broke in the northeast and the AC is off and the windows are open ![]()
