This could be just the start of changes and lay offs. Like it's been said over and over and over we don't need 2 hosts talking over each other and the vendor. Half the time one host is just standing there. I have hard time believing that Rosina still needs to be guided under David like he says or has been told to say. She has been there long enough to fly and has done shows alone. I really think Carolyn and Dan got a good package like that is being reported. It's not unheard of to give someone the "golden handshake". That being said I have put myself on a buying freeze with QVC. Don't like what I am seeing.

@Othereeeen wrote:For those who may never have worked in a large organization...when layoffs are coming, there are actually people who WANT to be considered for any severance or package because they are ready to move on in thier lives, or are close to retirement and a package may give them an added boost to thier retirement savings.
They WAIT to be considered, and, in some cases, volunteer to be laid off to "save someone else's job". Of course, performance still matters, but sometimes that happens.
Corporate packages can be quite generous.
Imagine being close to retirement, and the company offers two or more weeks pay for your years of service, paid benefits til you reach Medicare age, or other perks to take the sting out.
These were not minimum wage or hourly workers.
And employees who are contract workers may have this spelled out years before it happens.
At any rate, they will be OK.
And I do think it's naive to think the decision will be reversed.
I hope Caroline and Dan are enjoying a glass of wine and looking forward to retirement or what comes next.
I actually know someone who is hoping to be laid off. She would love a package like other employees at her company are getting; a years pay. Dan must have been close to retirement so perhaps he is not that unhappy about it. Still sad he didnt get to say goodbye.

Corp Office could care less about your feelings or mine. They are hoping for the younger crowd to storm the Q with buying products more so than us older shoppers. The younger people are not interested in the brands that are sold on the Q! They rather go to a brand name store that sells what their age groups are buying. I would think most of the ones that shops the Q does it for convenient and have it come directly to their home. That is my reason for shopping at the Q but since their prices have skyrocketed even the clearance I do shop more at Amazon and other online stores. I also most of the time can find things cheaper and with free s/h. Little things like this just makes it more convenient to spend more.
I did like Carolyn and Dan way more than most of the new host that can really try my last nerve but I watch/buy less so it really doesn't matter to me. I can live without the Q because I can find better prices etc. Use to buy a lot but the pass three years I rarely buy from the Q and I've been a customer since day one. As you live and explore you can and will find more for less of the same thing.
I guess some has to get chopped to make way for "some" to make their big dollars as well. ![]()

@JaspertimesI SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT! Read what Carolyn wrote on her personal fb page tonight. They were blindsided just like Antonella was!

Staff cuts and layoffs should NOT be standard. QVC keeps making noise about being a "family". They plaster personal information about their hosts all over the place. They encourage you to contact them and watch everything they do. They make you feel like you are watching a friend and then, all of a sudden, with no explanation, they chop them from the company and they are gone. I have not watched QVC since I heard about Dan and Carolyn. I don't think I will anymore either. It just makes me sick to think of these wonderful people being axed for no reason. Shame on you, QVC. You don't deserve my hard earned money.

@xplainer Yes, I agree with you. I would not say there is "no reason." The reason is QVC is losing money. But if QVC had let other hosts go, less popular or newer hosts, it would not have been such a shock. The thing that sucks for Carolyn and Dan is that they could not leave on their own terms, when and how they wanted to. Now they may have a sour feeling about QVC when they think about their time there, I know I would.
