I know I won't be told why, but do want them to know why I think the decision was very unwise.

I saw QVC's direction was decided several years ago and it doesn't include older customers and hosts.  Right now, both Rick and David said, all the producers and buyers are Millennials, 25 years old.

If you are not a shareholder or on the Board of Directors, I don't think you have any "right" to know why they are leaving.  QVC is a privately held company and they don't owe consumers an explanation about their fiscal matters @Foxxee .

The only way I see Corporate turning things around is to FIRST lower prices. Clothing prices are out of control! SECOND, fix your shipping and returns departments!!! We really have to monitor our accounts now especially for refund processing.

Excellent point! The shipping is getting a little better, but the return department is a mess! It takes so long to get a return processed. I just call Customer Service and ask for the return amount back. I'm not gonna wait two cycles and pay an easy payment, when the item has been returned. They don't process their returns quick enough.

I saw QVC buyers at a gift show. I was stunned at how young they were. There were 3 of them who had to be in their twenties. I assumed they were interns or new hires scouting for new products. With the comments of Rick and David maybe I did not give them enough credit. Their ID badges clearly said QVC and showroom staff were tripping over themselves trying to get their orders.

Re: I WROTE TO THE CORPORATE OFFICE

I didn't write to the corporate office because I'm sure they really don't care what we think.  I have paid off my cards to QVC and HSN and will not be buying anything further from either channel except for two items that I'm on auto refill.  Carolyn has been one of my absolute favorites from the beginning.  She is about my size and my age and I could definitely relate to her.  Some of the hosts they have now, I just can't relate to them.  I will be honest, some of the new designers they've brought on, I wouldn't wear any of their clothes.  I wish both Carolyn and Dan all the best.  It's tough getting laid off especially when you are older.  It sucks!  Shame on QVC and HSN.  I will now be saving a lot of money because I will not be buying from the Q any longer.

The reaction is getting ridiculous. They were laid off, not shot at dawn.

@Janey2 , It is overwrought.

leave your comments on the "Feedback" page at the bottom here.  You can tell them that you are extremely dissatisfied & then explain in the comments box.  They compile those surveys so your opinion will be documented there too.  I did that yesterday as soon as I heard the news.  I still can't believe it. And to have Rick replace Carolyn on the D & Co show is even more disgusting.

No I would never contact their Corp office over something that is between the employee and the employer.

@Jaspertimes  I really doubt they willingly gave up their jobs! Not in the real world. And based on their own comments on FB it didn't happen.

@DTRJPR In the real world employees don't get a heads up that they are being laid off! What makes you think that would ever happen.

It doesn't.

Re: I WROTE TO THE CORPORATE OFFICE

This really is going way over the top.  Corporations restructure every day.  It's sad. People move on.  There is zero percent chance it wasn't done with legal advice and was not an example of ageism or any other discrimination.
