Re: " Re: I MISS CAROLYN GRACIE

No one said "exotic," the word was "extreme." Seems you are trying to twist the comments to support an agenda. No one said "ethnic" either.  Plenty of the Caucasian women on QCV have worn hair styles that might be considered extreme by someone more conservative .  Example:  Shawn Killinger.

Sorry, but the word exotic was most definitely used by the OP.

The word was altered later by the author when her agenda was called out.

@G8Rshopper  You come late to the discussion and want to stir up dust to talk about somone's "agenda?"  At least get the facts straight.

The word exotic was definitely used in the original post; it was edited to make some changes, including switching out that word.

the only thing 'called out' was when some want to make something into drama and actually accuse others of very ugly things.  nothing factual, just spinning ugliness.

this thread is about missing a host that is gone.   NOTHING ELSE.  anything posted outside of that is to start DRAMA.

the lameness is rediculous

I respect your opinion believing "C + D stuff has gotten insane." Now, please consider giving others the same courtesy who might not feel the same way as you.

She's a tv salesperson. She's no ones friend. Omg get over it.

Everything changes. She was a tv host who you dont know. She wasn't your friend. Life goes on. This is overdone and not important.

There is absolutely no speculation as to the separation benefits given (or more appropriately, offered) to laid off employees.  Those are completely disclosed in the public domain.

Why some refuse to accept that is beyond my ability to comprehend.

However, whether Carolyn, Dan or the hundreds of others accepted the offer, and if they are content with the decision,  is indeed unknown.

@Commoner Exec Mr Wilkes

@Othereeeen

The speculation IS that they will be fine....we do NOT know the AMOUNT of the severance package.

Just because  Qurate gives a press release stating severance and benefits will be extended doesn't mean the terms were generous or life sustaining.

All I have seen released by the company itself is that they were getting 'something'.

We do not know any of the financial circumstances of ANY of the 400 laid off employees.

NO one knows how much any of their contracts are worth.  How much the stylist made...and all the other employees let go.

If you do...please post Quarate's printed statement saying EXACTLY how MUCH each of them are receiving by name.  The dollar amount please.

You are speculating that it is generous....speculating on the length of terms and MUCH more!!

Print exact details if you are privvy to their contract settlements.

I may have missed it.

@RespectLife

They accepted the severance offer, didn't they?

I'm sure they considered it fully before they signed on the line that is dotted.

You're right... we don't know down to the dime, and we don't know if they are "happy" and we don't know ANYTHING about thier personal lives and thoughts, although we've been told we are "family".

But Qurate is a multinational corporation, and having worked in a large US firm who gave out severance periodically, I would not doubt that it was "generous" enough to make it worth it to them. It's not the corner 7-11 or some Mom and Pop, though that's what one is made to think with the folksy aw shucks sales pitches....

And if it was NOT "generous"?

O well.  QVC HR said..."Then don't accept it, you're still going."...

How's that compare?

NO severance is intended to replace one's salary for life, unless you're a CEO or high level employee making millions.

These two were television salespeople. I'm sure it was calculated based on length of employment, a possible contract stating an amount, or, industry standards.

No matter what ...they accepted it. Which implies consent.

Confidentiality figures into it too. Unless you're a board member or a high level employee who answers to stockholders and makes corporate policy decisions, it's private.

Would you want all your neighbors to know how much money YOU got to leave your place of employment? It is anyone's business but theirs?

But if you NEED a figure to lay it to rest, I'll give you one. A $500 dollar gift certificate to QVC, and a set of Mark Charles snips.

Does it matter?

THEY accepted the offer. All I need to know!!!!
