There has been recent discussion about the boards here and will they stay or not.

FWIW:

When I "joined" the forums about 16 years ago, I was already on two others. Eventually I dropped them and stayed here - because the posters here were kind, gave me good advice on everything from makeup and fashion to food and decorating, and so much more. I couldn't wait to log on when I got home!

Ironically, posters I grew to trust advised me to stay away from some forums unless I had a thick skin. I don't, but I didn't stay away either.

We all know which posters we can trust and which we want to avoid.

I hope this board stays. I love sharing and getting excited about items I buy here. I love sharing how we decorate. I love sharing recipes and books. I love getting advice on makeup and hair. I love finding out what others think of movies and TV shows. I love discussing celebrities. I love reminiscing about things of the past.

In short, I don't know any of you IRL, but you are my online FRIENDS, and you make a difference in my life!  Smiley Happy

That is so kind of you to say @beach-mom .   I also enjoy the forums and consider many my forum-friends.  I would be very upset if this forum gets shut down.

Re: I Love the Forums!

@San Antonio Gal @beach-mom   beautifully said.  I have been on the boards since a little before 2000.   If anyone can tell me the date, or year forums first started, I'd sure appreciate it!!!  I do know for fact it was before 2000, as I remember the Y2K discussions, and ushering in 2000.     I cant remember, but it had been open for about or 9 months when I joined. I want to say 1998?    I didn't even know how to work it as internet was so new.   We really didn't have moderators on full time.  lol. I was told to stay away  from 2 forums as well...not saying.  Anyway, met one of my closest friends Chickenbutt here. And many other posters I enjoy everyday.  I took a break during Covid, as I had medical issues.  When I came back it seems a little testier at times.  I am having trouble with host, celeb, vendor personal bashing now.  I am always up for a little "tea"., but sometimes borders are crossed, as I would never want these forums to be closed. I know there are many who depend on these forums for social connections as well.  The forums can be fun, and full of ideas and news as well.  Anyway, here's to kinder , gentler forum...but still dishing fun stuff

@beach-mom - Beautifully said and I agree with everything you wrote.  I love coming on the Board and reading and sharing beauty and wellness and fitness and all sorts of things  Love reading about TV shows and movies and seeing the home decorating pics.  I would miss all of my online friends that I have here so much if I couldn't come on every day.

@beach-mom you are very kind and I always appreciate your posts and feedback. I especially appreciate your TSV posts letting everyone know the item and details before it's aired. Yes there are some posters we can trust (you are one of those as far as I am concerned) and there are others to avoid. It is what it is !

Have a great rest of your week and I look forward to your TSV posts and your ongoing ideas and remarks. God Bless

So well said @beach-mom

I started shopping through QVC in 2004, but didn't join the forums til 2007 (even though it says under my ID it was in 2010).

For those of us who have been on the forums a long time, I'm sure also remember when there was a big glitch/change and many of our original start/joined dates got changed. We never got the 'why' from QVC that they couldn't just restore our original date.

Funny how/what sticks in our minds sometimes...LOL

Anyway, I am also grateful/thankful for these forums.  Smiley Happy

@beach-mom , I enjoy the QVC Community a lot. The discussions we have here are my social media world, and I would be lost without the friends here. I have been a member a long time.

Thank you for this thread, and sharing.

I have been here since 2005 and can remember when things could really turn very nasty at times and the forums moved quickly!  Yet in the long run I feel that most posters are kind and helpful.

Occasionally threads can get heated and sometimes not so nice.  That is life and I just move on if I don't care for a thread.

I would miss these forums terribly if they were shut down.  I enjoy coming here and sharing thoughts on various topics.

I can't remember what year I joined, but it was way before the 2010 under my nic.  That was when they revamped the forums and everyone got the same date.

Some posters (like me) lost thousands of posts, while others didn't seem to lose any.

I remember how helpful others were, sharing bargains they'd found.  Especially in the jewelry forums.  And offering advice, when asked for it.

Things have changed a bit, but a lot of the longtime posters are still here and I'd also hate to see these forums disappear.

@beach-mom - Great post!
