Re: I GOT A HOLD OF RUSSELL STOVER

I posted this in another thread, but I'll also add it here -

A little follow up to my earlier post. Last night (Sat), after dark, I heard someone coming up my ramp and then a clunk as something was dumped at the door. The vehicle was gone before I could even see who it was or a company logo. I rarely get a nighttime delivery and no one rang the bell. I find a plain box with a scrunched up label and open it and guess what it is?! My Russell Stover tins with candy (the TSV from earlier this year).

I checked my acccount at QVC this morning and so far the order has NOT been sent, but is in process and expected to arrive on Dec 5th. That's funny, since I'm looking at it sitting in my kitchen.

Who knows? Maybe others will have their orders show up, too. Whether I keep it or not is another question. I'd like to try the candy to be sure it's fresh before making a final decision.

And there is no penguin or nutcracker tin.. All 5 are the ones advertised for this year. I hope everyone else gets their order soon.

@lc628   We could write a book on this?  Glad to hear they are the tins advertised, but I would love a Nutcracker.  I can tell you the candy was delicious last year.  Best candy I ever ate.  Mine is coming Dec 2nd but who knows maybe it is out in the rain.   LOL

Why on earth would anyone order Russell Stover candy online when you can buy it in any drug store, supermarket or just about anywhere? No shipping charges and you get it the same day. I don't get it.

I don't know.  Maybe the candy sold by Q has different, or fancier, packaging?  Or maybe it's just easier to buy Q's offering if you're sending the candy to someone as a gift.

As a former retail buyer for major retailers, many companies are not capable of the amount of traffic/orders that will come across as a direct from vendor sale.  If this is the case here, QVC should re-evaluate their business with this company.

@BalletBabe.   LOL.  Just what you wanted, antique candy in an old penguin.  Your gift recipients will be so impressed.  I can hardly wait to see what, if anything, you get.  Be sure to follow up.

Just wanted to say this comment gave me a much-needed laugh!  I am really sorry for everyone who is experiencing issues with Russell Stover...and hopefully they aren't going to ship fossilized chocolates.

@Buffalogal47  maybe it is because of the collector tins.  They might not be available everywhere and some of the people collect them.

@Buffalogal47   This candy comes in collector tins.  I can tell you they make one special for QVC in peanut butter.  I have had Russell Stover from stores and it is lousy compared to this candy.  Everyone I gave these tins to last year said it was the best candy they ever had and the Tins were loved by many and are collectables.  SH 11/9 Russell Stover 4-lbs Chocolate in Holiday Tins w/ Whit - M68422

This is last years set.  They are really cute and filled with quite a bit of candy. Russell Stover 4-lb Chocolates in Character Tin - M66883

@Schpuggy : That could be why some products sold on QVC that ship directly from the manufacturer have such long processing delays. You're absolutely right; QVC should definitely re-evaluate their relationship with these vendors.

@alicedee   I truly believe the Penguin passed away.   Bwah ahahahahah.  Maybe he froze to death.

Candy supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but hasn't been picked up yet, so I doubt it will come tomorrow.  I am about ready to refuse the delivery if it comes much later.  I have two more sets going out on the 7th and I needed this set weeks ago.   Sigh!!
