Don't feel bad.  I don't like calling them stupid.  It's just a mistake and we all make them.

I did the same with a UPS package.  I saw my driver in a parking lot on my way to a drop off location and gave him the box.  The next day he delivered it back to me.  And, he remembered me giving him the box.  Darn!
