Hyperbolic Prices compared to Offers

Both QVC and HSN have gone hyperbolic in thier declarations of  supposed prices...

 

EVERYTHING is breathlessly and urgently pushed..... "If you bought this blah blah blah it would be 489.00 but here it's only $69.00 and free shipping....."

 

 

Or..."This set of makeup items bought separately would be 179.00 ( for two eye pencils or a bottle of soap suds) but today it's only 19.99!!!"

 

 

Plus free shipping!!!

 

 

Come on now....it's the price you are selling it for TODAY.....and even then,they can barely get rid of the stuff to "sold out" status...and that's only because I suspect they only bring in five of the item....

 

 

"This sweater would list for 800 dollars !!!  or even have a "1" ahead of that price!!!

 

We have it today for ....39.99!!!!"

@Othereeeen   lol   I know for sure I'm not a buyer at $489, but I seriously doubt the 39.99 one is the same, so I'm also not putting that one on my wish list.

Oh yes, @Othereeeen  just listen to the lines they come up with. They are carefully crafted too. Of course, you could find an item with one in front of it.

 

It’s not what they are selling.
