Re: How many of us don't have a desk top computer?

I only use a laptop....both at work and at home.  I don't care for tablets as I don't care for the hands on touch pad (I use a mouse for my laptops).  Besides, I get rather grossed out when I see all the tablet and smart phone screens and they're just full of oily fingerprints.

Re: How many of us don't have a desk top computer?

I have a desktop at work and basically do all of my personal business on it.  I also use my work email as my main email.  I feel with all of the safeguards we have at work, that my info is much safer there than at home.  About a year ago, I got rid of my desk top at home because I never used it.  My brother sold me a cheap laptop and that's what I've been using at home.  I didn't think I'd like a laptop at all, but it's great as long as I can use my old skool mouse with to it!

I don't have a desktop, or even a laptop, for that matter. I find that my iPad serves the purpose for now. I guess l'm in the minority here.

Re: How many of us don't have a desk top computer?

I use a laptop and don't have a desktop.  I don't use my phone to shop or post.  Why would I use that puny little keyboard when I don't have to...?  Likewise a pad...  A pad is handy when a more fully functional 'device' isn't handy, and is more easily transportable, but not otherwise...  Oddly enough, my phone is primarily used as a (gasp) phone, not as a mini-computer on the run...  I also do put it away and don't feel as though my world is somehow incomplete if I don't have it more or less permanently affixed to my hand or if I don't check it every thirty seconds...

Yes. I will only use a desktop for gaming because getting a laptop built for gaming is way too expensive and hard to upgrade.

I use my laptop, phone, and tablet for everything else.

[ Edited ]

The only time I've ever used a desk top is when my employer provided one .....

I'm a laptop gal with the mouse pad in the center .... I don't know how anyone can use a keyboard and have to keep their right hand on the mouse .... yeeesh, how awkward!

Re: How many of us don't have a desk top computer?

I use a laptop:  a 17.3" notebook.

And keep a netbook as a backup.

A laptop gives me the flexibility of wirelessness, so that I can be online anywhere in any room.

Though I normally use it in the bedroom.

If I can afford it someday, I hope to get a desktop (and an all-in-one printer) for my future at-home business.

8 hours a day, I have a desk top computer. When I get home from work, it's just an Acer laptop.

Re: How many of us don't have a desk top computer?

At home I only post surf and get email on my laptop.  I don't have a desk top at home.  I do have tablets, but only use those for games and books.  They are too small for posting and surfing.

At work I have an all in one.  I suppose that is called a desktop.  I also use my tablet at work for games and books or watching netflix when it is slow.  The desktop is only for business and email.
