Re: How many of us don't have a desk top computer?

Just took my old computer to best buy last week to recycle.  I have a newer laptop, but I use my kindle to surf the internet.

Re: How many of us don't have a desk top computer?

I have a desktop Acer computer running Windows 7. Also a Compaq netbook running Windows 7 (seldom used as it's slow as molasses), an iPad 2 and an iPad mini along with an iPhone 4. I don't access the boards or QVC with my phone. I have the QVC app on both ipads but only use the apps to view video clips or live streaming as the quality is better than the desktop live streaming. I use the Safari browser to access the boards on my ipads and usually IE 11 on my desktop and netbook.

I prefer accessing the QVC boards through my desktop as it's easier to use and view.

I think desk tops are old fashion for home use. Got rid of ours four years ago and never looked back.

There are things I can't do on a laptop, so I have a laptop that I use for those things.   IMO, they are not old-fashioned.   Computers and tablets are good for different things.

We have one but I never use it.  Husband does and is using it now.

I have a MacBook Air laptop and iPhone.  That's all I use..  I got rid of my iPad and haven't missed it a bit.

I will probably never get rid of the desktop.

I wouldn't use a tablet if you gave it to me for free.

Re: How many of us don't have a desk top computer?

I stopped using a desktop years ago. I got used to using my laptop in a comfortable position an then my iPad, and soon will no longer have physical space for a desktop or AIO. Will be getting a new laptop in the next months when I'll have less use for my iPad. Some things you just can't do well on a mobile platform. The only thing I miss about desktops is a proper keyboard.

You can still use one laptop as a 'desktop'.  This is what I do.  The laptop I have on my desk, in my home office, is hooked up to the monitor I had with my last desktop, as well as a keyboard and mouse.

I keep the laptop, as I do with my others, on a laptop stand so that it gets proper ventilation and that keeps it cool and running well.  That way I can have the desk-type feel, but using a laptop instead.  Laptops seem to last a lot longer for me, so this is optimal.  Smiley Happy
