@Caaareful Shopper   @CaliGold67

I was FLOORED when I first saw Menopause Mondays on the TV. I thought Gremlins got in the TV Guide programming lines and were pulling a prank. My Mom, sisters, and girlfriends still shake our heads in disbelief this is still a "thing". It is beyond distasteful!

Whoever is behind the scenes with the concepts for slogans, branding, etc is on another planet, IMHO!

HA HA!  I think all the hosts are required to say "Menopause Monday/Tuesday etc" or "Age of Possibilities" 2X every half hour!  It's thrown into the convo at the most random times.  It's an experiment gone awry. STOP.

I was checking out the kitchen show yesterday, and even David V mentioned the slogan, which never even was associated with whatever item was on, truly ridiculous. Come on!   Don't try to sneak this in all the time. Give it a rest, we get it.

QVC is a shopping channel. Nothing else. The marketing campaign for the age of possibility is hilarious and adds zero revenue to their bottom line.  But.......it gives their on-air talent something to discuss instead of talking about products.

OH NO - don't tell anyone else that the Q is nothing more than a shopping channel!  It's so much MORE.  I'm not sure what but Q has taken on the mantle of 'sharing & caring for women'.  Allegedly.  Thus the menopause factor.  Menopause -is not a real thing anyway, doctors invented it - changes manifest differently for every woman.  I never noticed it. Now it's the "50+  and 60, 70, 80 & BEYOND!"  I hope when I'm in my 80's I don't feel a need to buy 2 years' worth of face cream.  Years ago a friend of mine visited a very Senior citizen at her home - she had an entire room full of unopened packages from QVC & HSN.  Imagine her family having to take care of that inheritance. Now I imagine all the Senior ladies tucked away in Assisted Living with not much to do.  Maybe I'll do the same? I DO love to shop.

@CaliGold67 ... "Menopause is not a real thing anyway... Doctors invented it." Really???? Just because YOU don't/didn't have it doesn't mean it's not a real thing!!! You are so insulting! How many posts are you going to write about this??? I replied to your other post dear heart. Go check it out....

Re: How Much Longer?

I have had the view that this campaign will not "disappear" anytime soon.  It is, I believe, a permanent (or at least semi-permanent) branding platform.

It was conceived, developed,  implemented and overseen by QVC Vice President of Brand Marketing Annette Dunleavy, herself a Q50 Ambassador.

If it has led to new customers (and new customers have increased) and best customers have grown their number of purchases and total spending,  there is probably no need to retreat, at least for the foreseeable future.

....now they speak about "lonely" viewers......Once you see it, you can't unsee it.  Take a look at the items;  expensive foods, grandma styles of clothing and shoes, candles, gadgets, plated jewelry and of course the twice a year Kitchenaid mixer.....  purses.....most younger women don't even carry a purse anymore.  I get it, as it is their business model.  It appears the market/audience for this type of shopping is shrinking and as the audience dies out, so it goes.

Sidebar -- what interesting comments!  Checking in here after a Vaca and during the Friday night show I kept hearing about the "grandma" years. Every 3rd sentence contained a synonym for "OLD" so the theme has not been abandoned by the Q.  It must be working - but I'm buying stuff because it's cold in this house!

I hoped they'd cut back.  No - the words have changed. A lot of "gray" "grandma" "assisted living" "staying home all the time" "not-as-active years".  Just now Shawn said the new "lipsticks are good for OLD  dry lips in the Age of Possibility of 50, 60, 70, 80....".  They're still convinced that this talk is working. I wrote to the Q again to say "enough already, it's gotten Old". I sometimes turn on HSN and don't hear them trying to sell to "old, dried up customers". Now that's Class.

I don't mind the Age of Possibility marketing and pitches.

If it wasn't that it would be something else.

At least this relates to my age group.

I hear what I need to and tune out what I don't.

This "50" nonsense is just another sales ploy---hopefully it's at the end of its life and am sure some new ridiculousness will pop out for 2025--maybe a years long campagne for the guys and ED problems---can you imagine that??!! Woman Embarassed

Unfortunately we have about another year of this lame marketing cr ap. This is a 2 year campaign from what I have read. It does not seem to be working though. Sales down even more, 6%. qvc stock price even lower than before. Last time I checked mid 0.30’s. Just my opinion, tptb should cut their losses with this stupid, stupid marketing campaign. It is a failure.
