I always thought that it was people of a certain age that ordered by phone, but now I realize that's not so.

If I were an "order taker" for any company I would be discouraging people especially those I think would be on SSI from buying. I've been to the Post Office many times and have seen the amount of packages that the care takers and the family have to take return. Mostly QVC.

@Sage04  How can you tell on the phone how much money a customer has? And that's also a good way to lose your job.

@Sage04 To take a job, take money and try to hurt the company is dishonest.

@proudlyfromNJ  that wouldn't matter to me and that''s why i would never apply for that job lol.

It's not a matter of how much money someone has. If I was lonely, I would be doing the same thing. Ordering from every on lone shopping network.

@Sooner  I would never have a job like that so I can say anything I want lol.

A lot of these packages are not opened and there are so many.

"1000 people on the phone could also be.... only 20 people in each state!!!

Although, it'd never be that evenly spaced!!!

I often wonder if that constant mentioning by hosts of how much they sold in THIER show is something they personally save for thier performance evaluation time....

So they can say ..."Hey, I am a top seller...please don't fire me or put me on at 1AM!!  I sold 12,000 Comfies in an hour!!!!"

It's ALL CYA today.

@Sage04  - How do you know what packages people are returning just by being at the Post Office?
