QVC gets away with it it because customers give them a pass making excuses for bad behavior.

How can an order be in stock, go to backorder, then preparing your order, back to backorder, then preparing your order?  It occurs too frequently to be anything more than incompetence.  Either it's in stock or it's not.  Playing that game, it's in stock, oops, no it's not...oh wait, it is in stock...no it isn't.  Who is QVC kidding?

"they are ignoring previous orders, raising prices and not filling backorders."

A CS agent told me shipping is supposed to fill backorders first before reorders are posted on the website.  It's happened to me.  Again, incompetence.

As long as QVC holds on to most of their repeat customers who make excuses for them and continues to get new customers, these issues won't be addressed.

Problems with processing and shipping have been going on for a long time.  I see no resolution because QVC doesn't outwardly appear to care. Either we put up with it or move on to shopping elsewhere.

@Foxxee Thoughtful post, spot on!  Heart

Computers take care of these issues for most retailers.  It is NOT a problem that can't be fixed.

Either it's the way they want it; they are too cheap to get decent equipment or programmers; or they are that close to going under.

Bottom line!

@homedecor1   I think you know good and well QVC does not charge your credit card until your order ships.  I told you what to do if there still a pre-authorization charge after 3 or 4 days.  Did you even read it?

@Bri369 .......Sorry, but I disagree these boards are not for complaints.  The Customer Care board is however.

@Sooner   How do you know they're filling new orders?  Do you know anyone who has received them?  My guess is they're going on backorder too in anticipation of the arrival of a big overseas order.  Nowadays backorder at QVC simply means "its coming but we don't have it yet".  Hang in there; I bet you get your pants.  Wait list is more iffy.  I've gotten every single backorder I've place in the past year but some took awhile.

@Kachina624

Please explain why QVC can constantly offer something -- a person buys in anticipation order will be received in a timely manner then within hours it's "preparing order" to "advance order" then "back ordered"....then YOU give them a "pass" all the time stating their merchandise is coming on the "slow boat from China" be patient!!!

Sorry but I don't feel this is anyway to operate a huge corporation like QVC😡.  Better to stop selling items which at the time of presentation are not available and empty out the warehouses at sale pricing..

I'm yet to have this happen with HSN or any other retailer -- if it's not in the warehouse it's "out of stock"...

Terrible to keep giving QVC a pass for deceit ...plus, who knows when these items WILL be available.

Thank goodness I don't purchase clothing from them anymore!!!

Well said!  I don't know how a retailer can sell items that they don't have in stock, ready to ship.  Has nothing to do with China.  Poor, poor inventory control as I've said many times before.

@Imaoldhippie  Honestly, does it really matter? This forum is Q Talk.  People are talking about shipping issues with QVC.

They should get their act together.  There really is no excuse to have such poor service.

Re: How Do They Get Away with This?

As far as I’m concerned more then two years ago they started with stating that the shipping problems related to consolidating to a new “state of the art” warehouse in PA. Orders to be processed by “state of the art” robotics. Remember the video Dan Hughes did promoting this. Anyway, two years later and they still can’t get orders processed timely. Orders should not go into “Preparing Your Order” sometimes up to ten days. Then when they finally do ship they use the awful mail innovations. Hence, is it any wonder people have these issues. This is why I have been purchasing less. That robotic controlled warehouse has been a big fail and they either don’t know how to fix it or simply don’t care.

@Kachina624

no I didn't see the "info" for this pre-auth charges you refer to.  I've been QVC for over 30+ years so believe me I know the policies.

BUT What does QVC not charging my card until ships have anything to do with "held funds" for something you order & in process for extended days????

frankly, don't know what bank you deal with but as long as item or charge has NOT been cancelled OR released by QVC ....our $$$$ is still being held hostage.

Can you call your cc and tell them to "drop the hold" give me that bank name, please.  None of my cc or bank release funds unless retailer stops on their end -- and QVC does NOT allow that option.

In fact, Q's answer to customer who wants to cancel after a substantial "processing" time goes by then  to "advanced order" then to back order :

     "wait until ships" then graciously tell you "to return using pre-paid label & they'll note not to charge for return shipping"....so that means more weeks of waiting for refund & hope they do that.  I've had to call or contact mods to get my return fees & orig shipping fees.

I'm not being disrespectful to your "defense" of QVC but in this day of technology it's unacceptable.  If millions of people can work remotely from home and be successful -- why can't QVC IT department fix this option to cancel....IMO GREED...(which has nothing to do with China just another excuse as when the warehouse had problems before COVID).

sorry for the bold and plain text I'm trying to figure out why it's doing this so "bold" certainly is NOT indicating I'm yelling ...it's Me or the IPad on this site is "wonky"...

please let's agree to disagree on this matter I consider you a "friend" and never mean to be disrespectful to you -- it's just frustrating on these boards when you continually state "slow boat from China theory & you'll get item sooner or later" -- QVC is to blame they know their inventory availability & should NOT accept orders for items not readily available.

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if legal action wasn't brought against them for holding funds, not allowing customer to cancel only when "waitlist" but not when product doesn't ship w/in reasonable time ... just wrong -- although they have "disclaimer" regarding shipping delays that's fine BUt it's not a shipping problem (I ordered Thursday USPS delivered today) it's products they sell they don't have😡.
