How Do They Decide - TSV or Big Deal?

What determines whether something is a TSV or a Big Deal?

Just curious. Does anyone know or can anyone guess?

Probably largely by the quantity they have available to sell.

Isn't a TSV something new - and Big Deal may or may not be new?

@Kachina624 - You're right! I should have thought of that! And @ALRATIBA - I hadn't thought about that, but we have seen Big Deals that have been around. I think I remember a host saying something like this a while back. You both answered my question perfectly!

I am confused. Didn't they stop doing any new presentations for Q2 and it is all reruns for Q2 and Q3? So, how do they present a new Big Deal for Q2? I know they run it on main QVC, but I don't uderstand how it can be a new Q2 Big Deal. Thanks for any explanations.

@Lisa now in AZ They still have a new Big Deal every day. It's just shown on the main channel. Silly, isn't it?

I look at Big Deal now as just one more "Today Only Price," or "Hot Deal," or some other pricing game of the day. It has lost it's urgency or excitement (sadly, so has QVC as a whole for me).

I always had the impression that the sales theme for the day was chosen first, then a product. Of course, that product chosen has to do with if they can get the quantity, but I remember a period of time the TSV was gone within hours, so I guess it's not always about quantity. I usually judge by the TSV whether or not I tune in at all for that day. I rarely watch presentations of anything, even the TSV. Too boring, and I usually can find the product online to see how it works, or who has the best value.

@Lisa now in AZ I've also seen Beauty IQ specials on certain shows even thought that channel and Q2 are now defunct. I think any excuse to make an item seem like it's a special price, including the TSV, they just choose a name.
